Charleston, what can you say? The city and it's history are made even better by a stay at this beautiful B&B! The location is perfect, everything was within easy walking distance and there is much to see and do. The room is wonderfully appointed and the staff was friendly and responsive. The perfect first, but not last, stay.

Location, peace & quiet, comfort, spacious room, history, breakfast served in our room . . . what more could you ask for? But we did get more, lots of advice and recommendations by the concierge, who couldn’t have been more helpful. Especially appreciated were his recommendations of Two Sisters walking tours, Husk and FIG for dinner, and the Black Fedora... More

I've stayed here three times and I'm always happy. The breakfast, service, friendliness of the staff and the charm of the rooms is simply the best. This will always be my number one choice when staying in Charleston. It feels like home. All the rooms are wonderful. They have gym passes to a local gym within walking distance, custom breakfast... We'd definitely stay here again. Our room was historically charming, but spacious, clean (nice modern bathrooms in each room), and comfortable. The history of the house is wonderful, the breakfasts and amenities were good, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very helpful with information about the area. Parking was great (just park out front to unload, and then... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the John Rutledge House Inn. It is a lovely property within walking distance of historic places, restaurants, and shopping. The amenities at the Inn are very welcoming, especially the afternoon appetizers with port and sherry, and the evening brandy. Staff are friendly and courteous. Would definitely recommend this property, especially if you like historical... More

We had a beautiful time. Everyone was friendly, warm and helpful. Mike really understood what we were looking for in terms of how we wanted to spend our time in Charleston and gave some good recommendations.

I was the guest of the Historic Charleston Foundation. Their choice of accommodation exudes tradition accurately and comfortably transported into the modern era. Spacious, well-appointed rooms with every amenity, an excellent breakfast and attentive, sincere staff resulted in a perfect stay. Centrally located between the luxury shopping area and the quiet residential lanes south of Broad, this is an excellent... More

This home from the revolutionary era is maintained very well and modern luxuries are included. The bathroom updates have been done within the last year and are superb. We had a spacious room on the bottom floor and the only negative I could say is that there is some street level noise mostly noticeable on the weekend mornings. The staff... More

This B & B is just wonderful. Beautifully appointed rooms with antiques with a gas fireplace too. The beds are really comfortable . Free internet and water in you room. The breakfast was outstanding, we had French toast which came with fruit. They delivered our breakfast in our room.

The house is beautiful. We just spent one night but will definitely return for a longer stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. We stayed in one of the downstairs rooms. It was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and was served where ever we wanted to take it. Room, dining room or courtyard. The staff was friendly and... More
