The service we received from Mike was excellent, he was great on the phone and offered to help us in anyway. We noticed he was training Zack that day. We saw Zack later that night when he came to bring us some extra towels. He was there early the next morning at the desk himself. Hard working young man! One... More

We traveled to Charleston with our French Bulldogs to see about purchasing a vacation property. The staff and accommodations at the John Rutledge House Inn could not have been better for us and our pets. Water and food bowls for the dogs were waiting and getting them in and out of our carriage house room was a breeze. Our breakfasts... More

We stayed in the carriage house with our dog and it was a good experience. The room was not huge but it was nice and it was very clean. We ordered breakfast to the room which was convenient with the dog and the food was good. There is a patio area outside where you could order breakfast also or you... More

This was a fantastic place to stay for a girls getaway! Beautiful, historic landmark, just a block off the main drag so close, but quiet. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated with period pieces, and very clean. Our bathroom had just been renovated and was large with modern conveniences and nice finishes. The food was fantastic--we enjoyed the afternoon tea,... More

The price may seem like a splurge but after the full breakfast, afternoon tea, and nightcaps on the porch, which are all included in the price, it all just makes civilized sense. This is an historic inn with beautiful floors and handsome staircase, but the bathrooms and beds are anything but dated. Linens and mattresses are first class and the... More

As a young couple experiencing Charleston for the first time, we lucked out to discover the John Rutledge House. Not only was the house incredible, the service was fantastic! Concierge service does not get better than what Mike Jackson and Jim O’Neill provide. The room we stayed in was awesome - it tastefully blended period elements of the home's bones... More

Upon arrival in Charleston, we were absolutely blown away by where we were staying - this is incredible! The concierge, Jim, was very nice and welcoming, after we got settled in we went upstairs to enjoy some tea and snacks(complimentary of course). The key lime pie they had was one of the best I've ever had, and after we were... More

This was our first trip to Charleston and there were so many places to choose from! We narrowed our selection, and made our final decision for a couple of reasons: one was that the Rutledge offers Tempurpedic mattresses, and I had been wanting to try one, and the other was Jim, the Concierge. I don't remember why I called, but... More
