The John Rutledge House Inn has the real feel of Charleston. I don't know why anybody would stay in one of the national chains when you can stay here. But the absolute best part of the stay is the staff they are very friendly and very helpful. The always introduce themselves and they make sure they know your name. I... More

Trying to find a true dog friendly fantastic location is not always easy to do. The Ashley Carriage House was highly recommended to us and our midnight arrival was warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. Beds are fantastic, size of rooms are great but most of all, the small number of rooms allows one to be given quick, undivided attention,... More

I enjoyed my stay here very much. I loved the decor. Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good and very filling. The factor that stands out is the service. There was a mixup with our reservation, which was not the hotel's mistake, but they upgraded us to a much better room at the same rate.

The afternoon assistant manager, Mike Bird loaned us his laptop in order to watch a webcast that we were unable to receive. Just a super young man. The accomodations were excellent as well.

Wr stayed at the John Rutledge House for two nights with our small dog. We had a beautiful room in the Ashley Carriage House, and the bed was so comfortable! My dog enjoyed the treats that greeted her in our room upon arrival with a note attached. Breakfast in the ballroom was delicious and a lovely spot to relax. The... More

I stayed with my cousin in the Edward Rutledge room and it was spacious and beautiful! The beds were comfy and there was even a working fireplace in the room! Perhaps the two best things about our stay at The Rutledge Inn was 1. the proximity to the shopping and street life on King street and 2. The amazing breakfast... More

My daughter and I were heading through Charleston on our way home from a lengthy road trip. Our stay at the John Rutledge House Inn was very delightful. Our geust room was charming and quite spacious. Breakfast was delicious & we enjoyed eating it in their courtyard. I would stay here again and recommend my friends to do the same.
