The best part of the Inn is the location! Right in the city center of Charleston. The Inn however is a little outdated and the rooms could be cleaner. The staff isn't very accommodating. We choose the Inn expecting a little more service then in a large hotel chain but we didn't feel very welcome. Wouldn't stay here again.

This accomodation is in a fabulous location perfect for getting around Charleston. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts are great with so much choice with a hot breakfast on weekends. The rooms are very spacious and full of charm, spotless and very comfortable. Morning and afternoon teas are always on hand. Highly recommend the stay here

This was my first trip to Charleston, and I must say we could not have had a better experience. We were greeted by Kelsey at check in who was as charming as the inn itself. The room was cute and cozy, and we had the best night sleep in our comfy king size bed. Sunday morning breakfast was prepared by... More

This inn has a great location and free parking, with easy access to shops and restaurants on foot. Staff was friendly, breakfast was great with a lot of options, with bacon, omelette squares, hash browns, cereals, and various breads. Also offers an assortment of coffees and teas. When we returned at night there was a nice tray of cookies. Overall,... More

I brought my best friend, whose last name happens to be "Barksdale" here for a "girls" weekend. It is right in the heart of downtown Charleston - close to everything you need; shops, great restaurants, entertainment. The staff is great! Scott was a great host to us. The breakfasts & afternoon teas were unlike the stale food you get at... More

I stayed at Barksdale House for two nights during June 2015. There were some renovations happening in the rear courtyard but it was handled really well so that there was no additional noise or inconvenience to guests. All of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The house itself has a ton of character and the room was amazing. The... More

This was our second stay in the Barksdale House Inn, and it was as enjoyable as the first a few years back. We were there five days and four nights, and purposefully split our stay into 2 nights in the main house and 2 nights in the carriage house. We'd been on the 3rd floor the first visit; this time... This was our first trip to Charleston and I must say the location worked out perfectly! We were within about a mile walking distance from everything we wanted to do. The longest walk was about 1.5 miles to Battery Park. The house was a little dated but overall we had a great experience, and the price was very reasonable. The... More

We arrived to a welcome "tea time" selection of delicious fresh warm snacks and beverages including unlimited sherry and Firefly vodka! The front desk staff was quite friendly and answered all of our tourist inquiries very thoroughly. The interior decor as well as our room was quite charming and quite apropos to Charleston. The hotel provides free ice water and... More

Returning to the Barksdale Inn after two years. We were a party of 5 and had rooms 5, 6 and 8. First of the two are shown in my pics. Huge spacey room, very tidy and clean. Same for room 6. Room 8 is quite a bit smaller and for rather smaller people as the bed is pretty short. The... More
