My boyfriend and I stayed at this Inn in mid-September. When we arrived the reception was closed (we arrived at about 7pm and it was meant to be open until 9 or 10 I think), but the keys and welcome pack were left for us. There was a plumbing problem in our original room so they upgraded us free of... more

Since this is an historic building and a B&B, we were not expecting the Ritz, but our room (room 9) was in terrible disrepair and not clean. Bedspread and decorative pillows were dirty. Water spots on the ceiling, floor had not been swept. Pillows were very poor quality and difficult to sleep on. We peeked into some of the other... more

We stayed in room 6 at the Barksdale inn and were very pleased with our stay. The location is great as everything is in walking distance including all the shops and boutiques on king street. The room was very pretty and it was nice to have the fireplace which we used every night. The service was great. Both Lynn and... more

I did a lot of research on B&Bs to stay in on our 2 week holiday which took in Savannah, Charleston, Richmond, Williamsburg and Washington DC, so I was really disappointed with the quality and service at the Barksdale House Inn. I think what made it seem worse, was the fact that we had such fantastic accommodation and experiences in... more

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights in Room 8 on the second floor (USD$99-119 out/in season). We managed to secure this room on short notice over the phone. Staff were pleasant handling all phone communications including when we phoned ahead to say we would arrive late as we were driving down from Charlotte, NC. We were lucky... more

My husband and I stayed here one night while on our honeymoon and loved it. It is very clean. The staff was helpful in showing us attractions to see and the breakfast was delicious. It is in walking distance to all attractions downtown. We would stay here again. more

This inn was a disappointment. It was clean, but like someone said, it really misses a lot of the details. I stayed in the Carriage House and just found that it wasn't like a typical quaint Inn. Very shoddy paint job, not enough trash cans, incredibly boring breakfast (store bought pasteries and old strawberries) and shampoo, etc. not refreshed. If... more

My boyfriend and I just returned from a trip to South Carolina, spending one night in Charleston. It was the weekend of the Cooper Bridge opening, so I couldn't believe we got a room at the Barksdale for $80. I was skeptical, to say the least, after reading some reviews and comparing our price to the other hotels in the... more

We stayed this past weekend. The location is great. It's 5 miles(approx) from Mt. Pleasant.Steps from Meeting St. That's the good part. We were never engaged in any conversation with the innkeepers on arrival, during our stay or departing. No Southern hospitality here folks. When you spend that much money on a B&B you want the experience of the South and... more

We recently stayed at the Barksdale for two evenings. The Inn is in a good location and is in walking distance of most of the historic areas . We felt the breakfast was good and liked the option of having it in our room or on the back porch. The women who served breakfast were very nice but I can't... more
