Our family visited for a wedding and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. Breakfast was amazing, true gourmet cooking, with a nice cocktail hour in the PM. Rooms were always clean and cool in the heat. Location is great and the staff is wonderful.

We came as a group of seven and arrived at the same time. Erin made us feel immediately welcome and handled checking us all in very efficiently. The rooms were very nice and our bed in room 3 was very comfortable with extra pillows! The bathrooms were comfortable and well appointed with complimentary toiletries. Bathrooms in these old homes are... More

We chose this B&B because it was one of few that still serve a full breakfast and had a first floor bedroom for my elderly parents who can't climb a full staircase. The rooms were small but comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The location was not in the historic area but others we met while staying there did walk to... More

This was a great place for our girls' weekend. The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, and atmosphere very "southern". We enjoyed the breakfast on the porch and the happy hour in the afternoons. Erin, our Innkeeper, was wonderful - friendly and a great cook! Tanya was also very helpful and made us feel so welcome. (We also loved meeting... More

Enjoyed the Ashley Inn. Rooms were comfortable and furnished in the antebellum, classic style. Met some very nice folks...and a few celebs! Inn is at a busy intersection which largely affected breakfast on the veranda. Rooms were nice. Bath was small with a tiny commode. Friendly owner and staff. Nice breakfasts and happy hour. Location about a 20 minute walk... More

I have stayed in many Bed/Breakfast Inns. Some, like the John Rutledge House Inn, provide wonderful experiences. Some, not so much. The Ashley Inn was certainly not the worst B & B I have stayed in: The beds were very comfortable. The complimentary wine was adequate. The air conditioning worked. The breakfast was very good and the young lady who... More

Lynn M, Owner at Ashley Inn, responded to this review

We appreciate and invite comments from our guest but I did want to respond to the four you mentioned. 1.) I spoke with my Innkeeper who took your reservation and she indicated that there was no request for sodas at the time of making the reservation. The Innkeeper who checked you in stated your request was made at that time... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Ashley Inn. The breakfasts were delicious. The afternoon tea/wine was also very good. We stayed on the 3rd floor so it was very private. It was a little warm in the afternoons in our room but overall it was comfortable. One of the rooms upstairs did not have any water pressure. The location... More

Enjoyed our stay at the Ashley Inn. Staff very helpful, friendly and willing to assist in any way they can. The owner is very knowledgeable and willing to share the history of Charleston. Breakfast was unique and tasty. Room comfortable and enjoyed spending time at the inn just relaxing and visiting with the other guests. I would recommend room 4.... More

What a great location and setting! I was in Room 4 that was very spacious with some comfortable chairs and four poster canopy bed. I also enjoyed the veranda even with the heat and humidity. The folks here go out of their way to extend Southern Hospitality at its finest. Lovely little touches like a coffee and tea set up... More

I stayed in this lovely little spot just for a night while celebrating a birthday and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Charleston. The building has historic charm but all the modern amenities you'd want (central air, flatscreen television, etc). The staff is accommodating and kind, the food (served on the beautiful wrap-around porch) is restaurant quality, and the... More
