Listed as being in Charlston, but it is in Ashley. Looks great from the outside. Check in was fine (pricey for the location). The halls smelled like smoke (the rooms in the hall were nonsmoking). Found out later it was cause the cleaning staff all smelled of smoke. We were in our room about 1/2 hr when there was a... more

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your comments. I am disappointed you did not enjoy your stay with us. We have been taking strides over the past few months to improve all areas of our hotel. We are almost finished with our new room renovations with which we will now be an entirely non-smoking hotel. We...

Clean, large, comfortable rooms. Rooms seem to be recently rennovated; but am not sure how spray-painting the in-room sprinklers is going to keep them effective. Easy access to all attractions in the area from this non-downtown location. Breakfast is a good variety and fresh, even late in the morning. Staff is engaging, courteous, and polite, but not helpful. Needed some... more

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The rooms were nice, and included a small fridge and microwave. The management called us every day to make sure everything was okay with our room. The hotel had a great hot breakfast that varied from day to day. Lots of good restaurants are also nearby. The hotel isn't that... more

I checked into this hotel around 5 pm (room 329). The check-in process went smoothly and the front desk person was very nice. I had dinner then came back to the room, sat on the bed and did about two-three hours worth of work on my computer. During this time I saw a bug on the bed. That happens in... more

We spent two nights and was a bit disappointed. Looks nice from the outside but needs updating inside. Carpeting dirty/older. Check-in was a breaze. While waiting for elevator we heard a 2 couples talking back in forth across the hallway. F-words flying in their normal conversations(one sounded like she had a bit to drink, not a good first impression)-glad our kids... more

This was my first stay at a Holiday Inn in many years. The hotel is in a convenient location relative to the South-Charleston beaches and downtown itself, without being directly in all the hustle (and without the corresponding price). We requested and received a non-smoking room (3rd floor, as it turned out) for 2 nights. It was well-appointed with good... more

Hotel was very reasonably priced for the Charleston area. The room had a mini refrigerator and microwave, which were a big plus so we could keep dinner left overs and eat them for lunch the next day. Enjoyed the continental breakfast available each morning. It wasn't the greatest food but it made a nice alternative to having to go out... more

Will not stay here again. Check in is at 4:00. We got there at 3:00 and as told to come back at 4:oo so we did. Then we were told the room was not ready. We continued to wait for another hour. The front desk was not helpful at all. We did have a reservation so you would have thought... more

I just spent one night. Room was large and clean. Unless you are a smoker, don't stay on the first floor if you can help it as it smells like a dirty ashtray. Staff were pleasant enough and the price was right at $76 (which is cheap for Charleston these days). Bed linen was clean and the bed was very... more

I definitely agree with the reviewer who noted that the hotel smelled. The main floor hallways very definitely smelled of mold/mildew and cigarette smoke. The elevator was tiny and also smelled. The property is in a great location and is overall in good condition, but its attention to details like this that can make or break a hotel. Furnishings and... more
