The Doubletree's main attraction is its location. It is definitely in the heart of everything touristy in Charleston's historic district. Our room was fine. Nothing breathtaking or awful, just fine. We were upstairs in the "annex" in a corner room so we had one of only two rooms in the hotel with a balcony. It was a nice feature but... more

Just returned from an annual "Girls' Weekend" that we spent in beautiful Charleston, SC. There were 8 women in our group and we stayed spread out between 4 rooms (suites) at the Doubletree Guest Suites in the Historic District in Charleston. The location of the Doubletree was awesome - definitely right in the midst of everything. It is located a... more

This property was OK, but nothing special. The room on the fifth floor was VERY spacious, but definitely needs an update. I was there on business and there was no desk in the room where I could comfortably work from, instead I used this very small kitchen table with a very uncomfortable chair. The room had a slight odor and... more

Management response from

As the Evening Manager of the Doubletree Guest Suites in Historic Charleston, I was disappointed to read the review from the guest from Dallas, Texas. I would like to assure the guest that the drinking glasses are washed daily in our kitchen dishwashers and are stored in the housekeeping closets for sanitary reasons- not on the maid's carts. I am...

Got an excellent price through Priceline ($70). Room was great, but NOTHING comes free at this hotel. So realistically, between the valet parking (there is NO where else to park) and no comp breakfast and no free internet etc our one night stay cost much more than that. You cannot even use a luggage cart because only the bell hops... more

The location of the hotel is great, within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We booked a king suite. Our room was on the first floor and opened directly onto the courtyard. This was very loud at times, especially in the mornings when people checking out would pull their suitcases across the bricks right outside the window. The room was actually... more

I wouldn't pay the average rate shown on trip advisor (we lucked out with priceline) but this is a rather large and very up-to-date hotel in one of the best locations in the historic district. We love Charleston so much, and will be happy to stay here again because its a worry free hotel steps away from the best restaurants... more

This was our 2nd stay at this particular Doubletree and we will be back! The hotel has not only an awesome location (right on the old Market) but the suites are really nicely decorated and very clean. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The young man who helped us with our luggage even offered to make dinner reservations for... more

From the time we checked in until checkout, we had a great experience. The interaction with staff was personal and helpful. We parked accross the street in the city parking lot. We didn't find a parking cost to be unusual in a historic city. Our room was clean and spacious. We will certainly stay at the Doubletree the next time... more

This hotel was a great choice. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic district so you are within a simple (a few steps) walk to the city market, other shopping, great restaurants, pick up locations for carriage rides, and historic areas. The hotel rooms are very nice--suites are really two rooms. There is a turn down service... more

Great suite hotel in town center. Two level suite clean and nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Lots of restaurants close by and right nex to the Market. Hotel only has vale parking in the underground car park but there is an open air parking lot opposite the hotel. Also the hotel doesn't have a restaurant except for breakfast. more
