We love camping here. If you can, get a camp site the beach side and you can see the ocean from your camper. They have cabins, but we have never used them. This is a beautiful beach and park. There is a lighthouse, and trails, but just hanging around the beach is fun. The camp ground is near Beaufort. If... More

This area of SC is beautiful! The beach is gorgeous and sparsely occupied even in summer months. We arrived to our camp site at 3:15 and packed up at 8:00 that evening. The Mosquitos were unbelievable. My son had welts all over him. We had bug spray, citronella candles, bug sticks, and a fire. We stayed in loop 6 and... More

This is the most beautiful campground I have ever seen. A previous reviewer said it was like stepping into Jurassic Park and they were exactly right. We camped at site 91 which is right off one of the main beach access trails. There is a private trail from your campsite to the main beach access trail. You walk for maybe... More

I have tent camped here twice. The first time, I thought privacy would be better than a bunch of tents crammed together, so chose the woods sites over the beach sites. We brought bikes, so had no trouble getting to the beach. However, the mosquitos are unreal here! DEET is a must (and I am not a fan of DEET!),... More

My family and I had the chance to visit Hunting Island State Park in July 2015. We had never been there before, but based on other reviews we decided to travel there. If you are planning to go, make your reservations well in advance. You can reserve sites up to 11 months prior to your stay through their website. I... More

While this was one of the best beaches that we have ever been to (and we've been to Hawaii, Aruba, St. Thomas, and more!), I can't recommend this campground. Our family was here six months ago in an RV right on the beach and highly recommended it, but our experience was pretty terrible. We had a trailside camp site which... More

We stayed after almost three weeks of rain. Needless to say it was a little muddy, but not as bad as you might think. There were a couple of sites roped off due to the mud, but ours was fine. The sites are well spaced and most are fairly private. The park facilities were a little dated but serviceable and... More

So on my second day of staying its obvious that noone leaned the bathroom cause the trash was half full and the toilet was clogged up and throughout the day when people try to flush, it would get worse then on my 3RD day yet it was still clogged now overfilling and in the nasty water that someone was not... This is our 2nd time camping here. By reserving a site last year, we were able to get a site right on the beach. I can sum up the view from the front windshield at dawn in 2 words "absolutely breathtaking ".we are staying for 2 weeks, and every day is another adventure. This is by far one of the... More

Nice campground with many good sites. We stayed on site 140 and liked the location and felt it was more private than some other sites. We were close enough to walk to the beach in a few minutes. If you want beach front, the sites are nice and are steps from the beach but it's very breezy there so keep... More
