We stay on the beach all day, in by dark. No bugs! Take your golf cart for afternoon rides! Wonderful people and lots of kids but totally quiet! If you are not oceanfront, you need bug spray for nights. Bath houses are well cleaned daily up front. Large store and very strict security.

The location in the low country is great. Close to the beach and you can bring your dogs out on the beach as well. Beaufort is a short drive away for a fun town trip. The campground is electric and water hook up only. It's a bit tight to get bigger trailers and motorhomes into. Lots of low trees and... More

Cannot possibly express the beauty of this campground. You have not experienced the beach until you've spent a week on the coast of Southern South Carolina. The beach is amazingly private even during peak camping season. Campers have access to the entire island including free rental of fishing poles to fish from the ocean pier. A morning walk from the... My husband & I are outdoor enthusiasts. We have enjoyed tent camping for many years in the mountains. We decided to give tent camping at the beach a try... WORST mistake ever!!!! Problem #1- Mosquitos As soon as we stepped foot on our campsite, #204, we were all 4 covered in Mosquitos! My poor kids were so uncomfortable! The Mosquitos... More

We came here for our one year anniversary! Boy do I wish I could've stayed longer! Went to a fresh market down the road and had fresh grilled tilapia for breakfast! The views were beautiful and we camped right on the ocean! We will be back!

We only stayed for a night while we were passing through, it was extremely crowded with only two sites remaining, I read online that the sites were around $18-30 depending on the site and we just wanted the cheapest as we only had a tent and didn't need anything else. When we arrived the lady we booked with neglected to... More

We spent 4 nights at Hunting Island in campsite #114 the second week of June 2014. Lovely campground but the neighbors gave us so little space that the space between our SUV and their tent was inches. Additionally, we had a trail behind our site that led to the bath house and everyone felt like it was okay to walk... More

We tent camped in mid-June for 2 nights and loved it! We had a trail-side sight which was very private and I would highly recommend. I was afraid of what kind of bugs might exist in the low-country, but we didn't have any problems with creep-crawlies, we did use tiki-torches and bug spray. We also had a lot of shade.... More

My family and friend spent two nights in tents at Hunting Island Sate Park in SC. It was Awesome, we were back in the woods away for the other campers. The kids really enjoyed it too. The bugs weren't too bad! Deep Woods Bug Spray is a life saver. The ticks were a pain but, that goes with the territory... More

We don't live far from here so we go often. It is a great place to relax. The wildlife is great, from deer to sea turtles. You can take the stairs to the top of the lighthouse and walk all the way around on a cat walk and see the entire island. There are picnic areas, some historical things to... More
