I've been going to Hunting Island with my family for more than twenty years, always staying in cabins by the beach. My boyfriend and I decided to try out the campground (tent only, we didn't use a camper), and reserved #205, which I thought would be rather secluded and near the beach. I was right about the seclusion - but... More

Campsite #195 will not easily accommodate a 32 ft. Motor home unless you are able to pull into the site across from it due to the strategically placed trees. Restrooms were functional, yet needed updating and more thorough cleaning. An exhaust fan would be a great addition to the restrooms as well as better screens. Men's showers were 6 feet... More

We stayed in site 170, overall good site - kinda tucked in the woods, away from the road. We stationed our tents and cars to block it off, so our kids could play safely in our area. Great place for a hammock! The beach was awesome! Especially, during low tide because there were nice little tide pools for the little... More

Stayed here last weekend, first time in the area. We had gotten the very last site available, T201. It had a very tropical/survivor ish feel to it. I had read many many reviews about the mosquitoes and raccoons so we took warning. The mosquitoes were insane back in that area so take plenty of spray. I did see one raccoon... More

We stay on the beach all day, in by dark. No bugs! Take your golf cart for afternoon rides! Wonderful people and lots of kids but totally quiet! If you are not oceanfront, you need bug spray for nights. Bath houses are well cleaned daily up front. Large store and very strict security.

The location in the low country is great. Close to the beach and you can bring your dogs out on the beach as well. Beaufort is a short drive away for a fun town trip. The campground is electric and water hook up only. It's a bit tight to get bigger trailers and motorhomes into. Lots of low trees and... More

Cannot possibly express the beauty of this campground. You have not experienced the beach until you've spent a week on the coast of Southern South Carolina. The beach is amazingly private even during peak camping season. Campers have access to the entire island including free rental of fishing poles to fish from the ocean pier. A morning walk from the... My husband & I are outdoor enthusiasts. We have enjoyed tent camping for many years in the mountains. We decided to give tent camping at the beach a try... WORST mistake ever!!!! Problem #1- Mosquitos As soon as we stepped foot on our campsite, #204, we were all 4 covered in Mosquitos! My poor kids were so uncomfortable! The Mosquitos... More

We came here for our one year anniversary! Boy do I wish I could've stayed longer! Went to a fresh market down the road and had fresh grilled tilapia for breakfast! The views were beautiful and we camped right on the ocean! We will be back!
