Prior to arrival at the Beaulieu House, I had been warned about the abundant doll collection adorning the walls. Otherwise, I would have completely melted down from the eccentric collection of glass eyes staring at me from every shelf in the house.

Overall, Beaulieu House is very clean and well kept, and the grounds are secluded a peaceful. My only complaint is that during my four-night stay at Beaulieu, I never once got breakfast. Seems the 8:am serving time tends to get postponed until 8:30 or later. Since I had to be in Beaufort and Hunting Island for other events happening during my stay, I was out the door before getting a chance at french toast and scones that were served to my traveling partners.

And one other collection I discovered during my stay: the owner posts verbose instructional signs all over the property...over light switches, in bathrooms, on nightstands...all reminding visitors to turn off the lights at night or not fill the tub too full or how... more
