We booked the inn since it was close by to Greenvale Winery and their Saturday afternoon jazz band. We were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the grounds and the inn. Cows grazed across the road and the flowers were in full bloom behind the inn. Breakfast was more than hearty ! There were amazing fresh baked muffins, eggs anyway... More

A beautiful inn, just a short drive from Newport. William and the rest of the staff are friendly and really make you feel at home. And the breakfasts are absolutely delicious. A very special place, and I can't wait to go back!

We stayed at Shamrock Farm for one night and really loved it. Our room was big, pretty, and comfortable. The bed was good and the sheets and blanket very soft. The curtains had stains on them as did the lampshades; hopefully they'll replace those...but it didn't detract from our visit. The shower was plenty hot and had great water pressure.... More

We felt right at home at Shamrock Farms. The inn is in a rural setting with a pretty pond and cows right across the road. There are flower gardens in the backyard near the breakfast room. The furnishings are interesting, quaint, and comfy. William, the innkeeper, is friendly and welcoming. He also makes a great breakfast! It is a wonderful... More

We really loved this little hotel, we were visiting Newport with a couple of friends. We are from South Africa and were really happy we stayed here. The hotel is very conveniently situated to visiting the main parts of Newport. The rooms were big, the beds were comfortable, really soft sheets. :-) The bathrooms were great, one of the best... We have stayed here 3 times. Lovely, quiet location. William is a wonderful host and a most excellent cook. He serves delicious breakfasts. You won't need lunch, or even dinner! He is a font of information about the island of Newport. Only complaint. We left a personal item in the room. Despite many email exchanges with the owner that the... More

At first, we were hesitant with our decision for Shamrock Inn (all other hotels in Bristol & Newport were basically booked... big wedding in town) --- the pictures on the Shamrock site don't do it justice, it's very very pretty and well kept! The location worked out well for our trip, as we were able to venture to Newport and... More

Beautiful, historic farmhouse on a quaint setting in Portsmouth. We stayed one night after a friend's wedding and enjoyed it thoroughly. Room was large, clean, and comfortable. Downstairs area had quiet parlor, cozy dining room, and nice outdoor space to roam. Convenient location to Newport but still quiet and relaxing. Proprietor is charming and has a great sense of humor.... More

Stayed and We loved it. Overlooking the water across tr country road added to the beauty of an already beatuiful landscape. We stayed in the Kesson room, comfortable and breezy for a summer stay. Very quiet grounds and an amazing breakfast the next morning. The garden and yard were better than pictured. This will be a memorable visit for years... More

We've just spent 3 weeks travelling around New England and this was our last but definitely best B&B. The conversion of a barn into this beautiful place is wonderful it is worth spending a night here if only to admire the hall and staircase. The rooms are all large with comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms with jacuzzi baths. The B&B... More
