Could not have found a better place in Narragansett or Newport. Super clean family-owned hotel. Gene is terrific. Had coffee and doughnuts in the office each morning of our 4 day stay. Easy ride into Newport. Directly across the street from a great beach. Enjoyed walking in the area on the beach, paths along the beach, and on the walker-friendly... More

This is exactly the type of motel I remember from the 1960's, updated with WiFi and a better TV, but keeping the feel of a well kept, family-run place. Chatting with the owner, who is mostly at hand, is a great way to get a history of the local area. The rooms are comfortable and modest, but so are the... More

I stayed at the Anchor Motel in late April 2014 while travelling on business. I chose the motel as it was near the beach and ocean and appealed to me over the large chain hotels nearby in Kingston. The motel room was very clean, pleasant and quiet. I stayed in Room 14 at the end of the motel closest to... More

We stayed at the Anchor Motel this past week with our twin boys. It was a great motel. I have nothing but good things to say about our visit. The room was extremely clean, and we are all clean freaks. The location was great. I really enjoyed waking to the sound of the ocean. Waking up to that view every... More

Our family has been coming here every year for the past four years. We look forward to staying at the Anchor Motel. Beautiful, clean, friendly motel with relaxing views of the water from every room. It is also in an excellent location. Whoever wrote a negative review about this place is crazy!!! We are very picky about cleanliness and this... More

We have stayed at the Anchor Motel every year for the last 5-6 years and we could never ask for a better motel or location. One way is Point Judith & Galilee and the other way is Newport. The restaurants in close vicinity are excellent, everything from seafood to Italian and fried dough! Prices are reasonable and the best beach... More

Don't know where Anchors Away stayed, but it was not at THE ANCHOR MOTEL! Have stayed at this family owned motel for many years. They are always friendly, professional & accommodating. The rooms are not fancy or plush but are spotless & comfortable. You can park right outside your room, every room has a small porch, & I don't know... More

The Anchor Motel is a great place to stay - steps to Scarborough Beach, a short drive to Narragansett beaches, Newport, Block Island ferry, restaurants, etc. Kept very clean - setup of the room, sink, bathroom/shower conducive to sharing space and all trying to get out the door at the same time. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

House was better than we could have hoped for , view from second floor is terrific. House is clean and the owners (Anchor Motel) are very nice and accommodating. Out of the hustle and bustle, but close to everything we wanted to do and see.

A very clean and well maintained no frill motel located across the road from Scarborough Beach. If you are looking for basic sleeping accommodations within close proximity to a beach in Narragansett this is the place for you. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly. There are no pools or playrooms just a nice place to... More
