My wife and I stayed there for a couple weeks. At first it wasn't to bad, everyone pretty much left us alone. We had our small dog with us as well. One night I went out to my car and took my dog with me. While we were outside there was a skunk under the staircase. As we walked down... more

If you are an "all about the beach" traveler on a BUDGET, then this is the most economical option. It is TRULY a beach motel; no fancy amenities, no phone, no room service, no continental breakfast...just the basic necessities. But the beach experience is totally worth the price. We have a table and chairs right outside our door and we... more

Staying at the Sandy Shore Motel is a traditition for me! This is a family-run, casual MOTEL right on the beach. The Atlantic Ocean is right outside your window. IF YOU ARE USED TO STAYING AT A FANCY COMMERCIAL MOTEL, you've signed up for the wrong experience. You can literally park the car ON MOTEL PROPERTY (quite convenient if you've... more

I chose this motel for it's location, not knowing it's closeness to Misquamicut beach. It literally is right next to the state beach. There really is not much for parking, we have a full size truck so it was difficult to park in the tiny lot. The room itself I have to say was pretty clean, for 329$ I would... more

It is not worth the money. Rooms were not great and staff did not clean the rooms well. We were there for 2 nights with kids and wouldn't stay again. No room for parking. Alot of party people there. Rocks and cigarettes all over the beach. Very dirty. more

Stayed mid week in July with my hubby and three kids, 13, 12 & 8. The weather was horrible but not to be any fault of the hotel. When I asked the women or "girls" at the front desk what we could do with a family on a stormy day they didn't even look up from behind the desk when... more

We are very sorry for your bad experience here. Our girls who work in the office are usually very friendly and accomodating. The cell phone was found!! It had been sitting on the back counter in the office, and apparently was put under the counter way in the back, (not lost, just misplaced) We promptly sent it back to it's...

Not a family freindly atmosphere place at all after dark. Grossly disappointed with this place. For $250 a night plus, you get a bunch of obnoxious guys having a drinking contest in the middle of the day in a place reserved for all guests of the hotel to sit and BBQ or just relax, RIGHT NEXT TO THE LIFEGUARD. And... more

The Sandy Shore is exactly what they say - a MOTEL - not a 5 Star resort. I read reviews on here before my stay this past weekend, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when i arrived. My 5 girlfriends and I rented an apartment, which was very spacious (3 full sized beds) and included a... more

This was my second time staying at the sandy shores hotel. First time staying in a double queen, with my 4 children . It was crowded but we made the best of it. This time we opted for the 1 bedroom apt. It was roomy, for the most part clean. and it was quiet.( I was in the room that... more
