Quite nice for the price, but annoying extra charge for a room safe we never used. When we complained they removed the charge. Rooms are small in the part closest to the lobby. more

Took the advice on trip advisor and I'm glad I did! What a nice Howard Johnson. Just minutes from downtown Newport. Very affordable, clean, nice staff. Didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. Had a room upstairs with a fridge/microwave combo. Recommend. more

I stayed at the Howard Johnson for 3nights on my visit to the Newport area. The best thing about this hotel is its service. I paid 43 dollars per night since it was off season and i found nothing wrong with this place. Even the jaccuzzi and the swimming pool was great. Excellent on a value for money basis. Centrally located, just a short trip into the centre of Newport where you will pay a much larger sum for a similar standard hotel. Location is fine outside of Newport. It does not take long at all to get to the tourist sites from this location. Travel down Broadway can be slow at times.
