I reserved the rooms at the Villa 120 and put a deposit down about a year prior to my wedding weekend, which is taking place in the fall of 2022. We had been working with the Villa 120 for months on using the property for other events throughout the weekend. The owner brashly calls and cancels our stay from the inn 6 months before the wedding, claiming "it was sold." We are unsure if this is the truth or if they got a better offer and decided to boot us. There was no courtesy of a conversation or discussion, or an apology. What we received instead, was an unprofessional and rude phone call with little to no explanation. The owner stated our reservations were not being honored, leaving us completely speechless. We are now forced to lose deposits with other vendors for the additional events we had planned throughout the weekend. We are truly disappointed and extremely upset by how this was handled. The owner operates this inn without professionalism, no courtesy for clients, does not honor booked reservations or agreements and has no ethics when it comes to business practices. I have worked in the hotel and hospitality industry for years, and never would I, as a sales person, or my ownership company, have behaved in such a despicable way toward our clients. Tread lightly - you may get a call from the owner a few months out from your event weekend booting you, only to be left scrambling to replan your entire weekend! We made the huge mistake of trusting them. I would advise anyone looking to stay here for their wedding or any other event, to choose another venue, hotel or inn that is reputable and operates their business with higher standards. Stay far away from the Villa 120!

Wonderful! This was our second stay and both were wonderful. We stayed in 2 different rooms (Ruby and Sapphire) and both were spacious, comfortable and quiet. Corinna is gracious, lovely and quick to offer suggestions, but also respects guests’ privacy and various travel styles. We love the location — out of the bustle of Newport proper, but only a quick drive away.

Corinna was a wonderful host and the rooms at Villa 120 are an EXCELLENT choice for visitors, and long term students at the Naval Station Newport like myself. I stayed for 2 months during a recent TDY assignment. Corinna was an excellent host, answering questions promptly before my arrival and during the booking process, and regularly ensured that the room was to my satisfaction regularly throughout the stay. The house is beautiful - as advertised. The rooms come fully equipped with a refrigerator, and I was able to make my own meals and store ingredients in the kitchen and pantry area. The location is very well situated - I could be from the house to Naval Station Newport in about 5-7 minutes, and I frequently went for runs at the Newport beaches which are also very convenient. Can’t say enough positive things about it.

There is plenty of parking and easily accessible to all the sights of Newport. Corinna is such a lovely person, she made us feel so comfortable and was such a lovely lady. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. The room was as displayed, clean and spacious. The room had everything you would need, coffee and tea, bathroom was spotless. We were worried about the hot running water and pressure due to a previous review, however it was not an issue during our stay. There was plenty of hot water with perfect pressure and hostess made sure everything we needed was available, she even took the time to advise us and draw a map on local places to go for food and experiences. Was the perfect getaway and would 100% stay at Villa 120 again.

I am certainly not new to staying in hotels or places with accommodations like a airbnb .I must say Corinna's place was the best I have stayed at in quite some time . I usually read the review making sure to evaluate the best and the worst reviews to get a sense of what to expect prior to my arrival . In a recent review from someone who stayed at Corinna's before I did .The reviewer made mention of the water pressure being too low and no hot water . I did not experience that during my stay there. In fact, the water was "hotter than hot" and the water pressure was just not an issue during my stay . The bathroom was completely modernized . Which leads me to a couple of conclusions: 1.Corinna reads the reviews and corrects any problems or complaints expeditiously which she did prior to my arrival.2. More likely the reviewer may have over exaggerated or made an issue of something where there was not a problem . After staying here I just find it hard to believe that Corinna would not have corrected a problem such as that. Anyway enough about showers ! The last thing I want to say is Corinna's place is an excellent value . When I checked the cost of hotels in and around Newport the Marriott for instance quoted me a cost of $700.00 a night for the weekend I had planned to stay . It cost me almost $1000.00 less to stay at Corinna's. The room was much larger with better accommodations. In addition, the mansion and all of its appointments is spectacular. From the beautiful staircase, to the sitting room with antique furniture makes one feel as though your living in the early 1800s. This is reinforced by pictures and articles chronicling the building of the mansion and the lives of the people who lived there. I cant say enough good things about Corinna as a host, her attention to even the smallest details and thoughtfulness is what impressed me the most . I recommend without reservation anyone desiring to stay here , and I plan to do so myself when I return to Newport Rhode Island. Corinna's place is truly a treasure. Ansermo L.Arthur MD.

We were a bit disappointed by our stay. The building is beautiful and the hostess was friendly but we expected more for the price we paid. The photographs on the website make it seem like there is more available, such as a set dining room table, but no food is available and another sitting room with a piano that is locked. The bathroom had no soap for the shower, almost no water pressure, and warm water at best. The bed was not terribly comfortable and it was difficult to get plugs to hold in the worn-out outlets. We expected high-quality products in the bathroom, beverages served in the sitting area, and such.

Response from Corinna B, Owner at Villa 120
Responded Oct 18, 2018
I was surprised and concerned to read your review as this was not the usual Villa 120 standard. When we spoke prior to your visit I did inform you that breakfast was no longer available however, tea, coffee and herbal drinks are left in your room and the price reflected this. Whilst here you texted me for more tea bags and toilet paper and unscented soap. I gave you the tea bags and toilet paper and did say we did not have unscented - we only carry scented soaps. I wish you had informed me about the shower during your stay as we have two large hot water tanks and the water is exceptionally hot and there is no problem with the water pressure but a couple of people have had difficulty with the dial. I am sorry to hear the queen bed could have been more comfortable, we have not had previous complaints but maybe a King would have been more suitable for you both but as I stated in our conversation there were no Kings available . I am not sure what you mean by worn out outlets and once again I would have appreciated you pointing this out during your stay so I could have addressed this. I am surprised by your comments because we had such a nice chat during your stay and you only had favourable comments and wanted to bring friends. I encourage all guests to inform me of any issues so I can rectify them during their stay.

My husband and I found this hidden jewel while looking for a place offering elopement packages. From the moment Corinna picked up the phone I knew I could trust her with everything for our wedding! Everything was perfect!! Stress free and exactly what I wanted! Corinna and her husband Glenn are special people who make you feel as though you have been friends forever. The house is beautiful and romantic and very well located..seconds to the heart of Newport.Rooms were very quiet,it was a full house but I did not hear a peep. The neighborhood was also very quiet.Overall outstanding!!!! We can not wait to go back for our anniversary!!

We spent two delightful overnights at Villa One Twenty in late September. We could not have been more pleased with our room, which was LARGE, comfortable and well appointed. Our host, the Villa's owner, was delightful and attentive to our needs. We cannot recommend her lodging more highly.

This review is long overdue! We stayed this past June in the Ruby Room and had our small wedding ceremony in the front room/library, with champagne and desserts in the adjoining room. We chose to have the ceremony indoors but got some great pictures on the front porch and out by the hedges with the fountain. Corinna was so helpful and organized, both in the planning stages and on the day of, and really made the whole thing enjoyable and stress-free. The location was ideal, quiet but very close to downtown Newport and Cliff Walk. Also for any guests with mobility concerns, the area where you park is close to the front door, there are only a couple steps up to the front porch and the restroom is right on the main level. We were so happy we chose to have our ceremony here, everything was beautiful!
