We stayed at this motel-like place for two reasons: budget and dog. It's pretty much impossible to find a pet friendly hotel in the area. These guys were fine with our middle size dog. We were able to leave her in the room while touring gorgeous Newport. The inn is only about 10 min drive to the Bellvue avenue, which... More

This property was not close to the beaches or the waterfront. In fact it was a $20.00 taxi fare to get to the beach! We awoke in the morning to find ants crawling all over the night stand, and we're all a little creeped out! The shower floor had about three plastic bath mats piled on top of each other... More

If you are looking to go to Middletown/Newport and are trying to do so on a budget this could be your spot. Definitely a lower price point than other hotels for a reason. Accommodations are passable, breakfast was sub-par and hotel staff were just OK. Not surprised to see this hotel at the bottom of the rankings for hotels in... More

Getting a room in Newport at the last minute during the summer is a real challenge. Needing to do that, we called here and got a room. Then we read the reviews - Uh-oh! Nevertheless, we went to the property, and they were willing to show us the room - clean, fresh, spacious, well-equipped, actually quite good for a transient... More

I got a room here for under $50 on Expedia, which I thought was a steal, but on Expedia it said Breakfast was included. In the morning--no breakfast. When I called the front desk they said they never have breakfast in the morning and the Expedia listed this incorrectly and it wasn't their fault etc... Also, the room was pretty... More

We have stayed here "in season" for several years, and felt the facility was adequate. Our stay earlier this month was awful. There was no hot water in the morning. We were told they had one boiler down and you had to run the water for ten minutes or so for it to heat up. We ran the water, but... More

Must be better choices in the Newport area. Prices were so high so I chose this place online thinking "how bad could it be?" First room had black curly hair @ sheets - 2nd room a bit better but still slept in our socks & got the heck out first thing in the am. Common area carpet filthy - pool... More

This hotel is a disgrace. It is dirty, we had torn and unironed or even unchanged sheets, there is dust everywhere, the carpets are filthy, the bathroom smelled of urine and damp, the furniture was propped up with bits of rough wood and there were electric wires falling out of their casing. The breakfast was too poor in quality to... More

This is a very average hotel. Nothing horrible, nothing great. Well, maybe the pillows are horrible. The staff was very nice, the location good, the room was relatively clean, just old and somewhat rundown. Pillows and mattress poor. Lighting poor in the room. The room was big and had a couch as well as desk. All I can say is... More

Ok, I have read some questionable reviews too. Its not the Ritz. It doesn't claim to be. It is safe. Its convenient to Newport (3 miles),lots of restaurants, supermarkets (across the street),ice cream stores etc. It has parking. It does have a breakfast in the morning of coffee, juice, bagels, pancakes etc. Again its not the Ritz. If you want... More
