We stayed at this hotel for a Business School function in Newport. I didn't have high expectations going into it, but it turned out to be a clean, nice hotel. Pretty much had the standard amenities and it looked like it had been upgraded within the last 5 years or so. The outside is nothing to write home about, but... more

We wanted to go to Newport, but the hotels are very expensive in that area. We picked this hotel because of the good reviews it received on trip advisor. I have to say I do like Hampton Inns in general because they are clean and quiet and are a good value. There were a lot of restaurants in the area... more

This hotel is THE place to stay if you are traveling to Newport on vacation. We have vacationed in Newport several times a year for the past 10 years and last year I decided not to pay for the expensive hotels in Newport, RI proper. Our expectations were far exceeded at the Hampton Inn. Clean, convenient hotel, pleasant customer service,... more

Stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Oct. 6-9th. First time to Rhode Island and wanted to be close to Newport, without paying the Newport prices. Great location; you are literally just blocks from Newport. There are plenty of restaurants just down the street. There were three of us in my party. We had a junior suite with 2 double... more

I would have to agree with all the previous positive reviews. There was nothing about this hotel that I could find fault with, well apart from the price, but this is Newport, sorry Middletown after all. All the staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful and the room was spotless. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the... more

We spent 3 nights at the Hampton Inn and Suites with our 2 daughters, ages 4 and 6. In general, we love Hampton because it is reliable, clean, new, and well-managed. The price is right, and the breakfast is a blast for our kids. When we arrived, we had a reservation for 2 nights. I had checked the internet that... more

My hotel experience at this hotel was simply incredible!!! Usually complitmentary breakfasts are so drab, but they go all out!! The french toast sticks are devine. Every thing about our reservation was booked accordingly, and they even gave us a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite as we are members of Hilton's awards program. Rooms were clean and smelled nice,... more

My family was spending the weekend in Newport, RI. When we arrived to the Hampton were pleased with the atmosphere of the hotel. It appeared clean enough, the pool was nice, and the receptionist was friendly. However, in the middle of the night, our air conditioning unit broke, and the top of it literally blew off. A few minutes later... more

The mansions (cottages) of Newport are located fewer than 4 miles from this property. Even if this hotel were located 10 miles from Newport, it would be worth it. The welcome was cordial and efficient. Our room was spacious, with a couch, coffee table and kitchenette (coffee machine, sink & microwave). Everything worked! The room was spotless, well-insulated and supplied.... more

We are veterans of the Newport/Middletown area, visiting several times per year. We stay in Middletown mostly because it is half the price of staying in the heart of Newport and is only 5 minutes away by car. The Hampton Inn & Suites was definitely the best experience we have had in Middletown. It is very clean and modern, staff... more
