I was in the Army for six years and regularly partake in camping with bugs crawling all around me, so I'm not an arrogant reviewer who will give a bad review for any little speck of dust. However, I would have taken ANY of my nights outside rather than sleep in this dump! To begin, the place smelled like vommit,... more

We came to this hotel to consider it for a group for a September wedding. The price at this time of year is minimal ($38 including tax senior rate) and $105 in September. Lodging is very high in the Newport area the weekend of the wedding, due to other events as well, so we considered kind of roughing it to... more

We really only used the room to sleep, but I felt that it was clean and spacious. It’s obviously an older hotel and for the cheap price I was not expecting much. It met our needs and allowed us to spend more money on entertainment. The only major complaint that I have is the noise...very thin walls! However, I plan... more

I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and was impressed by the size of the room, cleanliness and pleasant employees. Apparently they have changed hands. The man that answered the phone never mentioned the fact that the entire place is renovating. We were in a room with a broken TV, a toilet that didn't flush without holding the... more

In 2002, as two single parents living on tight budgets, my "new" boyfriend took me there for our first long weekend together. It was clean, close to Newport with not-Newport-prices, and we enjoyed it! In 2003 he got us the same room on the same weekend, and proposed to me there. In 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, we have gone... more

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in the summer of 2006. We arrived early and they were able to get us in our room right away which was nice. The staff was kind and personable, the rooms were clean and decent, the breakfast was general cereal and bagels. Overall we enjoyed our visit. We only used... more

This really was an aweful hotel. The room was dirty - carpet stained, marks on the wall, towels were frayed. The hallway and structure is warped. The continental breakfast, when I saw it, included prepackaged bowls of cereals and crumbs all over the place. We were charged $170, which I thought was because it was such a busy weekend. But,... more

An old, 50's style motor inn shows its age. This little place was built waaaay back when the Navy was in Newport and probably was a popular place for sailors to spend a weekend at. It is inexpensive and acceptable. No frills whatsoever, though the rooms have basic cable and an iron. We grew up in Newport and were visiting... more
