This an amazing hotel and only a mild walk from the visitors center of newport. Its at an amazing location, right next to the beach and close to restaurants with a wide price range. Overall great experience !

My mother and I started staying here almost 17 years ago when I was visiting nearby Roger Williams University. We fell in love with Newport & the Sea Whale immediately. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, Newport is very close & the beach is right across the street. We have yet to find a better location in the... More

I was very pleased. The staff is very friendly, and the room was very clean. The view of the pond from the second floor deck was a plus, and we were right near the beach and excellent restaurants. The birds around the pond were also very pleasant to hear and see.

This was a girlfriend overnight trip. We were assigned a room on the second floor which overlooks Easton Pond. Great view. Patio has 2 chairs and small table. Room had 2 double beds which were very comfortable! Microwave, mini-fridge coffeepot with coffee, tea, sugar and creamers. TV was adequate. Plenty of drawers and bathroom was spotless. Reasonably priced. Terry was... More

We stayed two nights at this motel and found it to be very well situated for a "mansions tour" of Newport. You can walk to the "Cliff Walk" from this motel in about 30 minutes along a very pleasant beach. Our room had a small decked area with a very pleasant view - especially at sunset. Terry was very friendly... More

This is the kind of place we stayed at with our parents but better. If you only like a Westin hotel then keep on going, but if you want a comfortable, clean, quiet spot on a pretty pond with great sunsets and with owners treat your like family, then this place is perfect! It is close to the beach, mansions,... More

We have stayed at the Sea Whale in the past but it has been a few years and I was pleasantly surprised at how great a job that they do maintaining the rooms and the surrounding grounds. The Sea Whale is about a five minute drive to the center of town so if you are looking for a place in... More

Spent the July 4th weekend at the Sea Whale. Very well run and clean motel with a great location. My wife and I did morning runs right out the door either over to Newport along the Cliff Walk or through Middleton on Tukerman Ave. We spent most afternoons at the beach, Third Beach being our favorite. After a day at... More

We stayed at this hotel June 6, 2013, based on good reviews. The reviews were correct. Very friendly and helpful lady runs the place, and she takes pride in ownership. Gorgeous flower baskets hung in the back. Clean rooms, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee. Restaurants, tavern, gas station, etc. within easy walking distance. Right on the road through town, but...
