We picked the Sea Whale because of other reviews in TripAdvisor; so, we weren't too surprised that it was in a great location for both touring and relaxing. The motel was "old New England" - nothing real fancy but clean with everything you need with a lovely view of a "pond." The hosts/owners bought the motel more than a decade... More

The Sea Whale Motel was wonderful. The owners friendly and attentive. We had everything we could need. It was clean with a pretty view of the pond. We were on the top floor with balcony! I would definitely stay on the top as the deck with the view was beautiful! The beds were comfortable. There was a microwave and frig.... More

We booked this motel due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews we read on TripAdvisor; and the place does have much to recommend it: 1) The location, at least on the side toward Easton Pond, is very nice and picturesque. The upper deck of the motel affords a beautiful view towards Newport. 2) Although the motel is not new, it is... More

Thank you for choosing us for your stay in the Newport area. First, I would like to address the room issue. You were booked into rooms 26 (2 double beds) and 23 (single queen bed with a full size sofa-sleeper), not in room 27 which adjoins 28. Not sure where the confusion with the room numbers came in but those... More

The Sea Whale was a great spot to return to after spending the day touring mansions and downtown Newport. Everything we needed was easily available, comfortable beds, ice, refrigerator and an easy walk to a variety of restaurants. The salt pond view is peaceful and serene, the perfect setting for pre-dinner cocktails or early morning coffee.

Me and my girls were looking for a place to stay and found this lovely place. The view from the back lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs is beautiful...could spend the day and night out there. The rooms were very clean, and for the four of us very roomy. I would absolutely stay here again!

Not just spotless, but sparkling clean. The owners have thought of everything -- every last detail -- to make your stay here a top-notch experience. Among other things, a really comfortable bed, soft towels, good pillows, every amenity we could possibly want or need. We have already booked another stay there for August!

My mother and I started staying here almost 17 years ago when I was visiting nearby Roger Williams University. We fell in love with Newport & the Sea Whale immediately. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, Newport is very close & the beach is right across the street. We have yet to find a better location in the... More

I was very pleased. The staff is very friendly, and the room was very clean. The view of the pond from the second floor deck was a plus, and we were right near the beach and excellent restaurants. The birds around the pond were also very pleasant to hear and see.

This was a girlfriend overnight trip. We were assigned a room on the second floor which overlooks Easton Pond. Great view. Patio has 2 chairs and small table. Room had 2 double beds which were very comfortable! Microwave, mini-fridge coffeepot with coffee, tea, sugar and creamers. TV was adequate. Plenty of drawers and bathroom was spotless. Reasonably priced. Terry was... More
