This is a small motel but set right on the edge of a pond/bay. The room was big enough to have a bedroom area and a sitting area with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. There were 2 entrances - one from the deck which I preferred and one from the road which I wasn't too keen on since there... More

We stayed here at the last minute. We were on the ground floor. I felt closed in, and everything seemed very out dated. The beds were hard, the bath room small, and water presser wasn't that great for the shower at all. It was some what musty smelling in our room. It was nosey with everyone else coming and going.... Wow! Not sure where to begin with this response..... So sorry you were so uncomfortable with your surroundings. Considering your stay with us was 8 months ago, much has changed. ----- At least half of the rooms' beds have been replaced (we group rooms together and just change the beds, blankets, etc., every so often). I'm sorry you found the... More

We stayed on the upper level and enjoyed the view of the "pond" - it was a very comfortable room, clean and neat. We had a small fridge and microwave as well. The bathroom is small, but again, everything is neat and clean. The location was fabulous - close to Easton Beach, Newport and the Block Island Ferry - about... More

So glad you had a nice time while staying at the Sea Whale. Sorry about the TV channel directory. Once the TV Guide Channel was removed from our line-up, it became more difficult to keep up with the ever-changing channels with our cable package. We used to have one in each room and will have one in there beginning next... More

This is a motel that takes you a step back in time. We loved it for that reason. It was very clean. We stayed on the balcony level and loved the view. The road is at this level but it didn't pose an issue. We will be back on our next visit to the Newport area.

We picked the Sea Whale because of other reviews in TripAdvisor; so, we weren't too surprised that it was in a great location for both touring and relaxing. The motel was "old New England" - nothing real fancy but clean with everything you need with a lovely view of a "pond." The hosts/owners bought the motel more than a decade... More

The Sea Whale Motel was wonderful. The owners friendly and attentive. We had everything we could need. It was clean with a pretty view of the pond. We were on the top floor with balcony! I would definitely stay on the top as the deck with the view was beautiful! The beds were comfortable. There was a microwave and frig.... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your lovely review. Yes, although most of our back is Newport and our front is Middletown, we are just 2 miles away from the center of Newport. We look forward to your stay with us next year! More

We booked this motel due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews we read on TripAdvisor; and the place does have much to recommend it: 1) The location, at least on the side toward Easton Pond, is very nice and picturesque. The upper deck of the motel affords a beautiful view towards Newport. 2) Although the motel is not new, it is... More

Thank you for choosing us for your stay in the Newport area. First, I would like to address the room issue. You were booked into rooms 26 (2 double beds) and 23 (single queen bed with a full size sofa-sleeper), not in room 27 which adjoins 28. Not sure where the confusion with the room numbers came in but those... More

The Sea Whale was a great spot to return to after spending the day touring mansions and downtown Newport. Everything we needed was easily available, comfortable beds, ice, refrigerator and an easy walk to a variety of restaurants. The salt pond view is peaceful and serene, the perfect setting for pre-dinner cocktails or early morning coffee.

Me and my girls were looking for a place to stay and found this lovely place. The view from the back lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs is beautiful...could spend the day and night out there. The rooms were very clean, and for the four of us very roomy. I would absolutely stay here again!

Not just spotless, but sparkling clean. The owners have thought of everything -- every last detail -- to make your stay here a top-notch experience. Among other things, a really comfortable bed, soft towels, good pillows, every amenity we could possibly want or need. We have already booked another stay there for August!
