The name is deceiving. Not a good place to stay. Bedspread was worn and appeared to be dirty, bathroom dingy and small, window locks were broken (first floor room). The bed was comfortable and the breakfast better than expected. I paid for two nights but checked out after one and moved on to a place where I felt secure. more

I took my mom who was visiting from Europe to Newport for the weekend. Since we were only staying for one night, I braved hotwire.com and booked a room in Middletown (the weather was crappy and we really didn't feel like paying $200 a night if we were just going to sleep there). The hotel is off the main road,... more

This was by far the nicest, cleanest pet friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. We used the hotel as a "base" during a trip to southern Rhode Island. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was nice. Great location. We didn't utilize any of the hotel's spa services, which is why I haven't given 5 stars.... more

My boyfriend and I have been staying here every Thanksgiving Holiday for the last 5 years. The staff makes us feel like we are coming home for a visit. Always have the same room, Lynda and Donna could not be nicer. There is such a family feel to it and for the money, the value exceptional. We would not think... more

This place is absolutely disgusting, the ONLY nice thing about it is the lobby but as soon as you walk out of the lobby, the rest is a dump. I booked a weekend here for my fiance and 2 children. We booked a non smoking room and the whole hallway leading down to our room reeked of cigarettes. My fiance... more

So my girlfriend and I decided to stay in Newport for the weekend, and based on the pictures it looks like a great hotel. the only thing that was great about it was the massage we had from Stacy. SHe was awesome!!! I'd go back only to see her. They switched our room from a king to 2 queens which... more

My fiance and I make it a point to go on a weekend getaway every weekend due to us having very demanding schedules during the week. In the two years we have been doing this we have never been to Newport so we decieded to go. I found the Newport Spa and thought it looked gorgous from the website. What... more

We have been to Newport Rhode Island several times and have stayed at the Newport Ramada Inn in Middletown - just a few minutes away from downtown Newport. We were always pleased with the accomodations and reasonable rates. On our last trip to Newport in October 2007 the hotel was renamed Newport Spa and Whirlpool Suites. They remodeled and updated... more

We booked a jacuzzi suite, they tried to stick us in a regular suite with one bed. We had 4 people. We asked for a non smoking room and got a smoking one. I went to front desk and complained and they put us in another room 2 beds and a jacuzzi. But the front desk manager acted like I... more

This hotel is affordable, clean, great location and very very accomodating. I can't say enough of the manager for this hotel. My husband and I got married in September 2007 and we had our room block there. The people who stayed were very happy with everything and some have even gone back since on their own. The new jacuzzis in... more
