It was a clean nice room with a nice bathroom. Arriving was awkward. We had no idea where to go. The house had no one to greet us and it felt like we were intruding in someones home. Steep steps with luggage, both outside the home and inside.

The Appleyard 3 was very clean and close to town. The problem is, you check in at a different location, The Harborside Inn, and get the room key and a piece of paper with directions, then you walk to the location and nobody is there to greet you. You have to guess where to enter the house and when you... More

The Appleyard is a guest house, not a B&B. That did not present a problem for us as we are early risers and headed downtown for breakfast each day. There is a coffee maker in the room which we never used. The room was neat and clean, had a private bathroom, air conditioning, a refrigerator and TV, all things that... More

Because we rented on a Monday, June 30th, 2014, the rate was very reasonable for APPLEYARD3, well under $200. And it was worth it! We're from Dobbs Ferry, NY, and may have been skeptical at first, but when we got there, it was like the image we see for the lower room: a king size bed, small refrig, cable TV,... More

I was a little nervous about staying here, having never stayed here before. I stayed in room 3 on the ground floor of this private home. This is a very nice room with a huge added bonus-A/C, which is very unusual on the Block. Very clean, and nice location just outside of town. Very quiet. Don't expect a lot of... More

DO NOT STAY HERE! i read the negative reviews here before I booked, but unfortunately, this was the only place that had space available for Labor Day. This is in NO WAY worth $229 + 13% tax/night. This is nothing more than an above average hostel. $50/night max is all it's worth. I have only negative reviews about this property.... More

creaky bed, lack of water, house, hill, all handled eslsewhree, had shades - significantly lower price - maintenance - not there long enough to eval service Block Island is a great place, and the Appleyard is adequate, as long as you know what to expect. Basically accomodations at the Appleyard are spare bedrooms, each with a bathroom. There were two... More

So here are the things that went wrong 1-We had room #1 with king side bed. Check in is at the Harborside Inn, where the receptionist gave us the keys to Room #1. We open the door to room #1 and find that someone else is staying there. So we are given room #2 with a queen bed. We were... More

At $179 per night, this place was simply not worth the money. (There are a number of lovely equally priced places. We went around to compare once we were there.) The Appleyard is neither a B&B nor an efficiency apartment but features the inconvenience of both. You must enter the accommodation through the side door and the owner's house is... More
