Great hotel with outside hangout area with a fire pit. You can walk to just about everything from here including a really nice sandy beach. If you want to explore further there are bicycle and scooter rentals nearby. The food selections nearby are plentiful from natural food options, coffee cafes and fancy restaurants. There is a bar in the hotel... More

My wife and I stayed here a few weeks back as part of a short weekend get-away. Overall, the hotel is pretty neat. We were there in the off season so alot of places were closed or were closing up but still we enjoyed ourselves and felt like we had the Island to ourselves. For historic structure junkies like myself,... More

We had always wanted to stay at the National and were delighted with the accommodations. Particularly the corner rooms overlooking the harbor. However, the continental breakfast was mediocre at best and opened way too late. Most guests were waiting in the lobby for 8AM to arrive, so we went down the street to the bakery for coffee. When we returned... More

I came to Block Island the first time back in 1991 and keep coming back. I love this hotel because it is so quaint and old fashioned. The rooms are small and extremely clean. Our room faced the harbor and it was so nice waking up to see the water and the boats. Hotel is so close to the harbor... More

What a great location! We went to Block Island for the first time for our anniversary weekend and had a very nice time. Al lot of places were closed but I was not aware that the restaurant/lounge at the National were closed and was not informed of this when I booked the hotel. This was a big disappointment. The hotel... More

My wife and I stayed one night at the National Hotel, a historic 1800's hotel. If you are a history buff, this is for you. The hotel is the real McCoy, so if you are into modern Marriott, this is not for you. The rooms are small, but are authentic. The front rooms have a wonderful view of the harbor.... More

Enjoyed a few nights here with my wife just after the Labour Day holiday. A really nice place to stay and just a couple of hundred yards from the ferry terminal. The rooms where excellent and absolutely spotless with good Wi-Fi connection. All of the front desk staff where very friendly and helpful as where the rest of the staff... More

It had been 20 years since our last visit to Block Island and the National Hotel. Sometimes memories will gloss over a stay in a hotel. My memories were spot on. The National Hotel is as is advertised. It is historic, warm, and inviting to stay, sit and relax. The front porch is very inviting to view the port where the ferry... More

We stopped here for lunch and it was fun - great outdoor seating for watching everyone on the island walk by, with views of the bay. There were five of us and everyone ordered something different, from a cheeseburger to a quesadilla to fish tacos, and everyone was pleased with his/her order. Our server was great - professional, helpful, very... More

We stayed here for one night at the end of tourist season. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful with answering questions. I liked that there was a designated luggage room so I didn't have to cart my bags around all day until check in. Our room was on the 3rd floor and overlooked the bay. You could... More

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to review the National. I am very glad that you will be back to stay with us again. I do want to apologize for the lack of service at breakfast. I am not really sure what happened but it has been discussed with both management and staff to hopefully ensure... More
