My wife and I stayed one night at the National Hotel, a historic 1800's hotel. If you are a history buff, this is for you. The hotel is the real McCoy, so if you are into modern Marriott, this is not for you. The rooms are small, but are authentic. The front rooms have a wonderful view of the harbor.... More

Enjoyed a few nights here with my wife just after the Labour Day holiday. A really nice place to stay and just a couple of hundred yards from the ferry terminal. The rooms where excellent and absolutely spotless with good Wi-Fi connection. All of the front desk staff where very friendly and helpful as where the rest of the staff... More

It had been 20 years since our last visit to Block Island and the National Hotel. Sometimes memories will gloss over a stay in a hotel. My memories were spot on. The National Hotel is as is advertised. It is historic, warm, and inviting to stay, sit and relax. The front porch is very inviting to view the port where the ferry... More

We stopped here for lunch and it was fun - great outdoor seating for watching everyone on the island walk by, with views of the bay. There were five of us and everyone ordered something different, from a cheeseburger to a quesadilla to fish tacos, and everyone was pleased with his/her order. Our server was great - professional, helpful, very... More

We stayed here for one night at the end of tourist season. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful with answering questions. I liked that there was a designated luggage room so I didn't have to cart my bags around all day until check in. Our room was on the 3rd floor and overlooked the bay. You could... More

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to review the National. I am very glad that you will be back to stay with us again. I do want to apologize for the lack of service at breakfast. I am not really sure what happened but it has been discussed with both management and staff to hopefully ensure... More

After a night on the island spent at another hotel, my wife and I opted for Breakfast at the National Hotel. It was the first meal of any kind for either of us at the National. Overall, it was a very solid breakfast with fair prices (esp. for Block Island), great coffee, and excellent service. A great way to start... More

This hotel has its plusses and minuses but i think over all its a great place to stay if you visit the gorgeous Block Island. Pros are: The location is great! You can walk to all the stores and restaurants in town and if you want to go elsewhere there are plenty of cabs across the street. The Grill attached... More

First time staying in a historic hotel, but probably not the last time. Pluses: great restaurant, ample hot water, convenient location to ferry, shops and restaurants. Minuses: no a/c in rooms, loudish at night, uncomfortable bed. I'd stay again but not on a hot weekend!

6 adults and 4 children (all 3 and under) for lunch on the porch Service - outstanding. The fact that we trickled in over a 20 minute span didn't seem to bother our waiter, He got to know the kids and was extremely proactive in making sure had everything we needed. He made great beer and food recommendations and was... More

We booked two days at The National, but could only stay for one. The hotel manager was able to resell our hotel room thereby saving us over $300! Thank you National! We'll be back to your hotel next season!
