I would not suggest this hotel for anyone that is looking for a clean, bright place to stay. The rooms are tiny, no real lighting( dim lamps) beds are small and not real comfortable. The bathroom is tiny---no spot to place a toiletries bag, no blow dryer, no iron, no fridge, no alarm clock. There was a tv that was... More

My boyfriend and I recently went to the Harborside Inn for a romantic getaway weekend. We were told "not to worry" by the woman who we spoke to on the phone. "The ocean breeze will make up for having no air conditioning. You won't even be able to tell that there's no air conditioning." Is what she told us. WRONG!... More

Stayed at Harborside Inn for the first time in many years of going to Block Island. Like most places it had it's good points and bad... First the good: Perfect location. Right across the street from the ferrys and smack in the middle of "the strip". You can walk anywhere from here and if you don't want to walk, the... More

Like some other properties on Block Island, this inn also seems to attract a wide range of reviews. My wife and I just returned from our first visit to Block Island and we were very satisfied with our stay at the Harborside Inn. As the name indicates, it is an "Inn" not a Marriott, so it helps to keep your... More

Two days before a romantic get-away with my husband the Bellview called to say that they double booked and sent me to Block Island Reservations who book for the Harborside. At the time they called I was away from home and asked that I check them out before confirming my room. When I got home I found awful reviews and... More

Ignore the old negative reviews of this hotel. The whole facility has been renovated and is really cozy. The location is fantastic and the hotel is clean and nice. My wife thought if was great and she's as tough as they come. Our room was on the small side, but was plenty big and offered historic charm right down to... More

We spent 1 night, and that was enough at this hotel.. It is very convenient to the ferry, but that was the only positive. The rooms had been supposedly renovated, but that did not seem so. We had no closet, no where to hang clothes and an old musty dresser that I would not have put my clothes in..The room... More

I have to say that i stayed there two years ago and there has been some improvement. The floors, Ceilings and walls have been redone. You have to keep in mind that it's a old building and the rooms are very small. There is no air conditioners or telephones, or wifi in the rooms. At night the rooms can get... More

So, the Harborside has been our go to hotel for several years now. The good: very good location near ferry, probably the least pricey place on the island (or close), can walk to lots of places. Also, we like the front deck, previously it had wait service, but now you can sit down with your own bottle of wine of... More

Probably one of the best priced hotels on the island, but not a great place to stay. Rooms are tiny, with old furniture, and in poor condition overall. Stained and sagging acoustic tile ceiling. Floors throughout the whole building tilt. No A/C -- only one 12" desk fan for the room. No phone. All this could be positively presented as... More

Each room at Harborside Inn has been renovated for the upcoming season of 2009. Visitors should know that the carpeting has been removed and the original hardwood flooring has been refinished. The wall paper that had adorned the rooms for many years has been done over and new ceilings have been put up. This inn is one of the oldest... More
