Probably one of the best priced hotels on the island, but not a great place to stay. Rooms are tiny, with old furniture, and in poor condition overall. Stained and sagging acoustic tile ceiling. Floors throughout the whole building tilt. No A/C -- only one 12" desk fan for the room. No phone. All this could be positively presented as... more

I introduced my boyfriend to Block Island this summer as it is one of my favorite spots to visit! We refer to it as "Flip-flop Nation", super laid back, very relaxed atmosphere and great place to have a really good time! Stayed in a few different inns and hotels over the years and have come back to the Harborside Inn... more

I recently stayed at the Harborside Inn on Block Islnad. In my opinion, this place although simple (as many are on BI) was an excellent choice. It was neat and very centrally located. The people who worked there were very happy to assist with questions about the island. I have only positive things to say about this property. if you... more

We won't go back. It was over 250 dollars a night for a run down dirty small hotel room. The room was like a sauna, which was accompanied by a old rickety fan. After taking a shower I didn't even feel clean, the shower was like a cave with mold and no air to circulate. The bed was even broken.... more

My husband and I stayed at the Harborside Inn on Sunday, August 26th and it was just fine. We stayed in an ocean view room (#205). This was on the 2nd floor and yes, you do have to climb some steep stairs. I was glad I wasn't on the 3rd floor. We only paid $159 for the night and considering... more

For $270 a night, one expects just a bit more than a third floor walk-up with a stained acoustical tile ceiling, a mattress somewhere between a sheet of 3/4" plywood and a spring factory, mouldy shower, shabby furniture (TV table with broken leg?!!), a room you couldn't swing a cat in, ... and the included "continental" breakfast... mmm who doesn't... more

Please read the review just before mine as well because I found much the same issues. I cannot even begin to explain how horrible this hotel is. I have written a detailed letter of compliant to the hotel management as well as the Block Island chamber of commerce to no avail. I cannot tell you what is worse, the room... more

We stayed at the Harborside for two nights while on island for a wedding. At over $200 bucks a night, we expected something at least on par with a highway-side chain hotel. We were sorely disappointed. Although Block Island is beautiful and the hotel is conveniently located right across from the ferry dock, the pluses end there. What was described... more

Although the room was small it wasn't uncomfortable. If we stayed longer than two nights though it might have been a little tight. The hotel has a great porch that was just built and has lots of wicker furniture to lounge on. My biggest complaint is probably minor to some. The tv only had three channels and they were all... more

I wasn't impressed with the Harborside but I can't complain since we only paid $159 for two double beds in the middle of the high season. The location is great, across from the ferry and walking distance to Ballard's Beach (great waves!). However, the room was was musty and it looked like there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The... more
