Ignore the old negative reviews of this hotel. The whole facility has been renovated and is really cozy. The location is fantastic and the hotel is clean and nice. My wife thought if was great and she's as tough as they come. Our room was on the small side, but was plenty big and offered historic charm right down to... more

We spent 1 night, and that was enough at this hotel.. It is very convenient to the ferry, but that was the only positive. The rooms had been supposedly renovated, but that did not seem so. We had no closet, no where to hang clothes and an old musty dresser that I would not have put my clothes in..The room... more

I have to say that i stayed there two years ago and there has been some improvement. The floors, Ceilings and walls have been redone. You have to keep in mind that it's a old building and the rooms are very small. There is no air conditioners or telephones, or wifi in the rooms. At night the rooms can get... more

So, the Harborside has been our go to hotel for several years now. The good: very good location near ferry, probably the least pricey place on the island (or close), can walk to lots of places. Also, we like the front deck, previously it had wait service, but now you can sit down with your own bottle of wine of... more

Probably one of the best priced hotels on the island, but not a great place to stay. Rooms are tiny, with old furniture, and in poor condition overall. Stained and sagging acoustic tile ceiling. Floors throughout the whole building tilt. No A/C -- only one 12" desk fan for the room. No phone. All this could be positively presented as... more

Each room at Harborside Inn has been renovated for the upcoming season of 2009. Visitors should know that the carpeting has been removed and the original hardwood flooring has been refinished. The wall paper that had adorned the rooms for many years has been done over and new ceilings have been put up. This inn is one of the oldest...

I introduced my boyfriend to Block Island this summer as it is one of my favorite spots to visit! We refer to it as "Flip-flop Nation", super laid back, very relaxed atmosphere and great place to have a really good time! Stayed in a few different inns and hotels over the years and have come back to the Harborside Inn... more

I recently stayed at the Harborside Inn on Block Islnad. In my opinion, this place although simple (as many are on BI) was an excellent choice. It was neat and very centrally located. The people who worked there were very happy to assist with questions about the island. I have only positive things to say about this property. if you... more

We won't go back. It was over 250 dollars a night for a run down dirty small hotel room. The room was like a sauna, which was accompanied by a old rickety fan. After taking a shower I didn't even feel clean, the shower was like a cave with mold and no air to circulate. The bed was even broken.... more

My husband and I stayed at the Harborside Inn on Sunday, August 26th and it was just fine. We stayed in an ocean view room (#205). This was on the 2nd floor and yes, you do have to climb some steep stairs. I was glad I wasn't on the 3rd floor. We only paid $159 for the night and considering... more

For $270 a night, one expects just a bit more than a third floor walk-up with a stained acoustical tile ceiling, a mattress somewhere between a sheet of 3/4" plywood and a spring factory, mouldy shower, shabby furniture (TV table with broken leg?!!), a room you couldn't swing a cat in, ... and the included "continental" breakfast... mmm who doesn't... more
