As a visitor to York, first riding the bike trail from Baltimore, and now visiting a son at York College, we've always stayed at the Yorktowne. Over the years the hotel seems to be in a steady decline. Worn carpet, cheap towels, and broken furnishings are the norm in the rooms. The fine dining restaurant and the parking garage are... More

Having stayed at the hotel in years past, I had high expectations for our room. Unfortunately it was gloomy dark (room 316 I think), multiple large stains on the carpet and bed spread, dirty, with tired sparse furnishings, even an old tube TV to boot. We were offered to try another room but felt that any hotel that would offer... More

I stayed at this hotel because I was a guest at a wedding there and they booked a block of rooms for guests. Every room I visited was different. We had a two room suite on the 4th floor but the bed room was behind the sitting room so there was no street noise. The view was rooftops, but that... More

2nd stay at this hotel. Room neat & clean. Hotel website not updated so we were unpleasantly surprised that parking was no longer free (parked in garage across street for $10 per day) & room service discontinued. Arrived @ 7 pm & no help with luggage up steps. Very close to York Fairgrounds for TCA York meet but will stay... More

Stayed one night at the Yorktowne Hotel for business. It was a very picturesque refurbished historic hotel (opened 1925). With being historic, the room was smaller (had a king size bed though), but very clean and not run down at all. These older hotels have so much character and charm than your average modern hotel! Unfortunately, something is going on... More

This hotel had a beautiful grand entrance, but the upstairs rooms were seriously run down. Wallpaper was stained and cracking down the seems. The light switch by the door didn't work and the beds had super old comforters. However, it was super clean, and the shower was great. The guys at the front desk were amazing - provided me with... I don't mean to oversell the The Yorktowne, but my experience seems to be much better than others. The pre-warning I will give all travelers is that this hotel has been around since 1923!!!.It is not going to have certain bells and whistles that the chains out on US 30 do!! Ok!! I saw a valet when I came in.... More

Stayed here for years and returned after missing a year. Hotel showing some wear but room was clean and comfortable. Valet parking was unavailable as the hotel garage is closed due to structural concerns. Main dining room is now closed and available only for private events. Parking available at city garage across from hotel at $10.00/day. There is another dinning... More

An historic inn of America hotel. I love theses places, they are always so unique and this one hag bags of character. Check in involved stairs with the bags but not too many, check in was polite and efficient. The room was quaint , clean and cosy. The view across the city was good. Food in the restaurant and the... Just got back from Pennsylvania - we stayed at the Yorktowne Hotel in downtown York. It is a wonderful hotel! The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. And the location of the hotel is superb. It is minutes away from Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, Antietam and Lancaster. We stayed for four days and enjoyed... More
