We stayed at the lodge in a suite. It was of amble size, but there were quite a few details overlooked, at 175 a night in this part of the state I expect more. The room had a living room, kitchenette, and a separate room with 2 queen beds and the bathroom. It had little to no style. The room... More

This is a great and reasonable hotel with friendly staff and everything you need in the charming town of Wellsboro. We stayed in the hotel, not the lodge, and we'll be back. It feels like the 1930's with great woodwork, clean tiled baths, and paneled dining room. Great little tavern, large restaurant, and helpful staff.

I was very pleased with my Lodge stay. Hotel and rooms were very new and comfortable. The pool looked awesome and I was sad I didn't have my suit. Breakfast was amazing for a continental breakfast! The Lodge was in close proximity to the charming main street of Wellsboro.

Stayed in the newer section of the Penn Wells Lodge in mid-October. For the almost $200 per night price I was disappointed. Upon entry to the room there was no coat closet...it was in the back of the bathroom area through the bedroom (???). They must want you to walk through the entire room with your wet and/or muddy shoes.... More

The room we were in was dated, The bathroom door did not close all the way there was mold on the ceiling and it smelled damp. We ended up lighting candles to mask the smell of the room. We were on the second floor and there is no elevator.

Christmastime in wellsboro is not to be missed and we would not stay anywhere but the penn wells hotel. Located on the Main Street it is located right in the heart of wellsboro. Rooms are somewhat small but clean and well kept. Hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel restaurant is beautiful and the food is good.

Wellsboro is a very charming little town. Lots of nice locally owned stores, most are toward the upscale side. They even have an old fashioned locally owned full service department store, like all small towns had back in the sixties. As for the Penn Wells lodge, it was a nice clean and quiet place to stay and was very well... More

My wife and I went to Wellsboro to see the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania and then travel on to Corning, NY to visit the Corning Museum of Glass the following day. We enjoyed both, though the first week in October is probably a little early for leaf peeping this year. We selected the Penn Wells based on the information in... More

I stayed at the Penn Wells (at the hotel, not the lodge) for a friend's wedding. The room was a bit small but that was alright with me since I was traveling alone and staying just one night. The staff was friendly and courteous. We had dinner at the reception in the hotel restaurant which was very good. But the... More

This hotel is very cozy and quaint. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's not a brand new modern hotel, but it's CLEAN and well kept and has character. The lounge is cozy with a beautiful fireplace. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looks wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was nothing great, but we didn't stay there... More
