Staff checks you in and later checks you out. Non- existent in between. Like staying at a funeral home in an otherwise fun and friendly town. Price is double for what it should be due to gas workers gouging

Stayed over a Saturday night, in a ground-level room with two double beds in older portion of the lodge. The first "non-smoking" room we were assigned had a very strong smoke smell, asked to be moved. The front desk attendant was very apologetic and reassigned us immediately. Second "non-smoking" room smelled smoky also, but much fainter, was bearable for the... More

Stayed 3 nights at the Lodge while skiing @ Denton Hill with several families. Suite room 448 was very nicely furnished, clean & modern. Two other suite rooms on 4th floor were identical. The quoted rate of $159/night was reduced to $149/ with AAA discount...higher than comparable hotels in my opinion. Pool area w/ hot tub was plus for teens.... More

I'm staying in the new part of the Lodge. It is a suite with a gas fireplace, mini kitchenette, king bed with a queen pullout sofa. Love having Starbucks coffee available in a lobby and also in my room. Indoor pool and work out room are a big plus. Truly a nice place to stay. This is my second time... More

We stayed in a suite at the lodge, which was very clean, comfortable, and a perfect location in town. Awesome duvets, flat screen TVs, and nice to have a little kitchen for the fridge. Basic continental breakfast with friendly and caring staff, and nice to access to an on site pool. We checked out the hotel too and enjoyed the... More

We were so unbelievably blessed to stay at the Historic Hotel. The rooms and beds were out of this world comfortable. The hospitality of all whom we crossed paths with were just pure amazing. Dinner and breakfast were fabulous. My favorite part of the 4days/3nights spent there was the staff and how personable, friendly, and accommodating they were. I felt... More

We were a party of four, hungry and tired from our days adventure. The Penn Wells restaurant was recommended by a family member. As we entered, a grand dining area was clearly visible. Feeling under dressed, we asked if there was another place to eat. We were invited to sit wherever we pleased by a wonderful hostess. We choose a... More

We decided to stay at Penn wells hotel, instead of the lodge, as we were looking for charming historic building. We enjoyed the old quaint features, lovely woodwork, yes, creaky floors...The staff so very accommodating, friendly. The beds were very comfy and great luxurious towels. Rooms were always straightened and ready for us when we returned from our outings. We... More

The hotel does have character, but it is very old. The bathroom was small and primitive. It is also very noisy. We were on the third floor and still the noise of traffic all night was bad -- trucks and motocycles especially -- and people shouting. Some of the staff was wonderful, but one staff member was extremely unfriendly. There... More

This hotel is like a blast from the past. It was very charming and quaint, but definitely old. The elevator has a maximum of 4 passengers. We traveled with another couple, and were given adjoining rooms, which added to our pleasure. We laughed at the TV in the other room, as it was only about 21 inches. We did appreciate... More
