We were hesitant after reading all of the bad reviews, but were pleasantly suprised at how nice everything was. The views and grounds were really very nice. We purchased a package which included a suite room with our mini golf, bowling, and dinners and continental breakfast of course. The room showed signs of use but the mattress was new and... more

I had reservations and PAID SIX MONTHS in advance of a reunion for which we had reserved a large block of rooms here in July 2009. We also had a conference room, a reception, a band, and dinner -- the entire weekend was planned at this "resort." The price for the rooms was $80 a night -- that was the... more

Paid over 80.00 a night to stay in a room with a broken bed and no internet service. They advertised wi-fi through out the resort. Only problem is it was a lie. We were in town for a class reunion. If I had known this place had gone to hell so bad I would have stayed in another town with... more

Natural gas has been discovered in this part of PA and this hotel is raking in the money and not reinvesting it. At $120 per night the best I can say is they are trying to keep the rooms clean and the staff, although perhaps not 100% competent, seems to be friendly and helpful (perhaps because these are "good times"... more

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite. We are smokers, but the rug and carpet were horrendous for the amount of money that one would spend on a suite. The room is in dire need of some updating! more

We stayed at The Shadowbrook for a family wedding. The grounds are nice enough and there is a pool and activities for kids and family, however the room conditions are horrible. The rooms need major renovating, they seem very stuck in the 1960's. The room appeared clean even though it was outdated. However, my husband and I both woke up... more

We apologize and spoke personally to the guest, but it we immediately inspected the room and surrounding rooms and public area, and there were NO bedbugs or any other insects. This guest was given a full refund for her stay.

I've been coming to the SB for years as part of a golf group and have always enjoyed the course availability and the flavor of local area. There have always been challenges to the hotel accommadations and general housekeeping issues with out of date rooms. This year may have been the breaking point. Stayed once again in older portion of... more

We stayed here on May 16, 2009. The pretty setting on a golf course in the mountains was an attraction; the course is said to be good (we don't golf). However, the hotel is tired, as were we the morning after a sleepless and uncomfortable night. The room seemed clean enough, but the gloomy decor was typical of a low-budget... more
