This was our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We couldn't of chose a better place. Jan makes you feel so welcome, like the house is yours. Rooms are nice and cozy. Perfect relaxing weekend. Jan also makes the most amazing breakfast. We can't wait to return.

Tanya - Thanks so much for posting a review...and for trying a bed and breakfast. Although we are all different (that's the fun part!), you can count on hosts that care about the quality of your stay, know the best paces to eat and shop and that actually like their "job". It's also a great way to meet new people!... More

The breakfast was absolutely delicious with many of the ingredients from local sources. By any standards, the menu was pretty amazing (rhubarb nut bread, warm spice plums, toasted corn strata, basil chicken sausage, and double chocolate brownies [which we kept for the road]). The inn keepers have lived in the area for 20 years and share their knowledge of the... More

Josoef - Thanks so much for posting a review. That was the first weekend that my rhubarb was ready, so I was glad to share it. It's now big enough that Bruce won't run over it in the garden when he mows! Thanks also for the compliments on the garden. I love all flowers, but when the more finicky ones... More

We wanted a quiet getaway. We definitely got it. We stayed in the garden suite which had its own private entrance. Bruce and Jan were wonderful, even gave us a gift when they found out it was our anniversary. Jan's breakfasts are amazing and definitely an experience. Bruce's knowledge of the area and history are awesome. The antiques around the... More

Melinda - We're so glad you found us! And glad that you enjoyed the Garden Suite. It's our most-loved room! Guests say the porch instantly relaxes them. No wonder porches are making a comeback on new houses. Thanks so much for posting a review...Happy Anniversary! We're glad you could get away to celebrate. More

Another great stay at the Artist Inn. Jan is such a gracious hostess! Our room was perfect as always and the breakfast is scrumptious! Already booked for April next year! Would never stay anywhere else!

We stayed in the Garden Room. It has access to a large porch on the side of the house overlooking the garden. We spent quite a lot of time there watching the horse and buggy's ride by, gazing across the Lancaster farmland in the distance and listening to the bells of the church across the street. Very relaxing. The breakfasts... More

Shawna - thanks so much for posting a review. Folks find it hard to leave the Garden Suite porch - especially on Sundays and when the weather is perfect...We're glad that you found it so relaxing. Terre Hill is a tiny town surrounded by farmland, but great restaurants are just a short ride! More

This is the only B & B we go to when in the Lancaster area. This was our 12th stay with Jan and Bruce. We have enjoyed getting to know them over several years. We often meet interesting people when staying at the Inn. Jan fixes a super large breakfast using unique recipes every time we are there. It is... More

Joan - Thanks for posting such a nice review. It seems like every time you visit, you discover something new to do. How nice that you could meet your sister and her husband at the halfway point too! We're so glad you liked Black Creek Greenhouse - as you know, we are surrounded by great greenhouses. They all know me....guess... More

We had an amazing time at the Artists Inn, located in a small and quiet town in Lancaster. We were greeted warmly by Bruce who showed us around the house, pointed out his artwork (which is fabulous and funny) and gave us great advice on activities in the area. The room was very comfortable, roomy, bed was great. The fireplace... More

Thanks so much for your kind words...Bruce is basking in the glow! These days I spend a lot of time caring for my elderly mom, so Bruce has really stepped in to help out. One hundred years ago, people were writing about the great views from Terre Hill. I'm glad to report that folks still admire the views today. I'm... More

We planned a last minute one night getaway for my husband's birthday and really enjoyed our stay here. Bruce was a very friendly and welcoming host. Unfortunately, we never got to meet Jan as we had other plans in the morning for breakfast. We stayed in the Garden Suite. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the... The Artist Inn had all the special and charming touches to make our anniversary getaway most memorable. Our hosts, Bruce and Jan were exceedingly accommodating and introduced us to the best of this Lancaster area. We had privacy, clean as a whistle room and bath, and exquisite gourmet breakfasts, surrounded by Bruce's whimsical art and timeless vintage décor. Highly recommend... More

WE went to the Amish country on the spur of the moment and chose the Artists Inn and gallery. What a find it was!!!! We were greeted upon our arrival by Jan. A most amiable and pleasant innkeeper.
