I was on my way home from dropping off my son at camp and decided to give myself some R&R and was rewarded with so much more. The place was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable. A few miles from Jim Thorpe lies the hilltop village of Summit Hill, where legend has it that anthracite was discovered. The villlage is unspoiled and remains cohesive. There are several low priced restaurants and the Dr. Bonner House is the only remaining overnight lodging. From here one can easily drive to the Lansford coal mine museum/tour and Jim Thorpe....
