My husband went here when he was little, and since we both have a love for trains,he wanted to take me here,so we went in 2007 and it was great! I'm sorry to say this visit this month was a let down and we won't be returning to stay. It was disgusting! in your room you have a little frig, when I... more

Our train lover really enjoyed this motel. The rest of us thought it was o.k. The outsides of the cabooses were really nice. The insides could use some remodeling. The bunk beds that our kids slept on squeaked everytime they turned over, which was pretty annoying. It was in a good area and close to a lot of other attractions... more

the idea of this place is great. However, it just has not happened. The rooms were VERY DIRTY and OVERPRICED. We were in car #4 and it was BAD. I did not want anyione in the family to toucj anything in the room. For the price they charged us, they should have clean rooms with things that work(fans) and globes... more

Best Hotel I've ever been to. the vintage Pennsylvania Railroad cabooses worked as a great hotel room. Even if I didn't like trains I would still highly recomend this motel. The "rooms" were clean and cozy. Service was excellent the location couldn't get better. Every time I go to Lancaster County I have to stay at the Red Caboose. You... more

Despite some negative vibes online, I was pretty excited about the Red Caboose. As a railroad enthusiast, I understood the shortcomings of staying in a caboose but the idea fit so well with visiting this area that I could not resist. I thought that even if the other reviews were accurate that the experience would be fun. We've done a... more

We stayed here because everywhere else was booked, but were so very pleasantly surprised. We are a couple, not a family, and I suspected the place would have the anarchic, noisy, not so clean atmosphere that follows vanloads of families around. However, this place was charming, interesting, beautiful, and original. Somehow I expected it to be kitschy and past its... more

My family stayed at the Red Caboose for Memorial day weekend in 2008. I booked the reservation several months in advance and paid at the time of the reservation. When we arrived to check in we were told we were charged the wrong price and the cost for the room was actualy more because it was a holiday weekend. I... more
