The room was beautiful; the staff was great; the owners were wonderful. It had endless charm and outstanding food and service. Breakfast was included and was delicious. It far exceeded my expectations. I am already looking forward to returning!

The Georgian Inn is a mansion that dates back to the early 1900's. The owner has restored it to reflect the way it looked then and has succeeded, especially in the main floor rooms. The food in the restaurant was gourmet and truly delicious. While I was fairly comfortable in my room after I had asked for the A/C to... More

Only stayed one evening but everything was lovely. The breakfast was excellent, the room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the special drink at the bar area while watching the Preakness. The only suggestion we have is to install and air conditioning unit because even with all windows open, it was a very warm night for sleeping.

Glad you had a great time. Thanks for the 5 stars. I only wish you would have told us about the air, the control is right beside your door. Thanks again, see you soon. More

Unless absolutely necessary, I never stay at an ordinary chain hotel. For a visit to Fallingwater (reviewed separately), I searched for interesting accommodations within about 45 minutes to an hour's drive of the famous house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. So I settled on The Georgian Inn of Somerset. It was originally the home of a local coal and cattle... More

Thanks for your comments. We try very hard to capture and keep the historical significance of this wonderful mansion. As a side note, our owner was invited to a meeting of hotel owners and was asked to speak about our model. He made some chains mad when he commented that many chains are the true bed and breakfasts. In the... More

We were looking for an overnight that had some atmosphere not far off the Hwy and found luxury for a reasonable cost. We felt like Royalty...Our room was first class, with a heritage ambiance, the view off the back terrace for our pre-dinner glass of wine was a real treat, then dinner came with a personalized menu. Breakfast was included,... More

I will say it right up front-this property is "outstanding". From the moment we walked in the door, the service of the staff was excellent. When I made the reservation, I did not realize the suite I picked did not have a shower. Asked when we arrived if we change-no problem. Breakfast comes with the suite. Had an opportunity to... More

Imagining what it was like to actually reside in the Georgian is part of the experience of staying there. It is a grand old mansion. And with older structures, one should expect perhaps a squeeky floor as was pointed out in a previous review. The opulance and grandeure of the building overides any of the small "squeeks" or less than... More

This (could be) gem needs a SERIOUS upgrade. My husband and I stayed one night on a road trip. The rate is actually lower than it might be given the franchises around there are around $100. The mansion was, in its day, a work of art but as an hotel, B&B or Inn, it doesn't cut it. It doesn't know... More

READ THIS ANSWER. (Reviewed and concluded as an accurate response.) First let us thank you for selecting the Hotel as your destination. Let me respond line by line. Your comment about upgrades has no merit. Over a million dollars has been put into the restoration of the mansion. It was literally taken apart researched, uncovered original paints, lights, floors, and... More

Not our first time here, so there is hope, otherwise why come back, right? Service is in place, but telling me that every course was prepared by her, (our waitress) got a little old. Asking for bread or crackers when served soup is apparently against the rules. You will get (1) roll, but only when your salad arrives,,,,No exceptions! (I... More

Sorry you did not enjoy your visit. The waitress may have been over friendly, and if the meal was not to your taste, you should have said something. Our reputation is to hospitality and guest satisfaction. This type of fine dining may not be what your normally prefer, but we would have done what ever it took to show you... More

Spent a night here en route back to Brooklyn. Great room, super toiletries (not cheap and nasty), personalized service to make sure we got a table for dinner, and a delicious breakfast. Not the usual interstate stop although the town around it isn't pretty. Lovely countryside though.
