Fed stale cereal. Rooms comfortable and clean enough. If you bring your own food it's ok. Owner isn't on property. Cash only, not much to eat in town either. No AC, Owner hovered at breakfast, as if she couldn't wait to get rid of us. Would never stay here again.

The Gingerbread House in Rockwood, PA is a bicycle friendly Bed and Breakfast. We were a group of nine biking the Great Allegheny Passage trail with reservations for this B & B. A rain storm turned us into one dirty group of bikers. The owner provided a hose to wash off our bikes and just asked we take our shoes... More

We are two Anglo-US couples who decided to cycle (some of) the GAP in October 2014. Marianne at the Gingerbread House was wonderful. The B and B is welcoming, well-equipped, with a secure under-the-porch bike store, and felt like a home from home. Who cares if she only takes cash and if the delicious breakfasts offer no choice? This was... More

Stayed one night with my wife using this B & B as our home base biking in both directions on the VERY nearby bike trail. Owner does not live on site but does come to greet you upon arrival. She also provided a delicious hot breakfast in the morning. Small issues that kept this property from a 4-5 overall rating.... More

This was our second trip back to the Gingerbread House. This bed and breakfast inn is within walking distance to the bike trail and is very clean and cozy. I like the fact that the innkeeper does not stay there and you can really relax. In the morning she makes a very nourishing breakfast. She is the sweetest innkeeper along... More

Great location off the GAP trail and bike friendly ( bike parking under her porch in closed off space, hose ). Clean and comfortable, but no AC. LOTS of road noise from trucks, and trains of course which is all along the trail. Breakfast is ok, not given many options though She will take a CC for the reservation then... More

We LOVED the Gingerbread House! Very cosy, quaint, great porch for settin, nice safe place for bikes, the owner made us an excellent Gluten Free breakfast, including local sausage that was super, a huge meal of eggs, fresh fruit. Our room was delightful. There IS AC, so we were plenty comfortable. There is a train anywhere along the GAP trail,... More

We stayed on 8/10/13 while biking the GAP trail, and are glad to have selected the Gingerbread House B&B. The owner was excellent from reservation through check-out. When the support van arrived for luggage, Marianne, the owner, provided coffee to the driver, and showed fine hospitality. We wanted to be on the trail by 0800, and breakfast was stated to... More

We'd been bikeriding on the trail all day and got there about 5pm. Cool fall weather, so the lack of AC wasn't noticeable. Very clean and well furnished. Heat by steam radiator. Most of the other guests weren't cyclists--we seemed to have no competition for the bathroom/shower either in the evening or the next morning. I suppose there's a bathroom... More
