We LOVED the Gingerbread House! Very cosy, quaint, great porch for settin, nice safe place for bikes, the owner made us an excellent Gluten Free breakfast, including local sausage that was super, a huge meal of eggs, fresh fruit. Our room was delightful. There IS AC, so we were plenty comfortable. There is a train anywhere along the GAP trail,... More

We stayed on 8/10/13 while biking the GAP trail, and are glad to have selected the Gingerbread House B&B. The owner was excellent from reservation through check-out. When the support van arrived for luggage, Marianne, the owner, provided coffee to the driver, and showed fine hospitality. We wanted to be on the trail by 0800, and breakfast was stated to... More

We'd been bikeriding on the trail all day and got there about 5pm. Cool fall weather, so the lack of AC wasn't noticeable. Very clean and well furnished. Heat by steam radiator. Most of the other guests weren't cyclists--we seemed to have no competition for the bathroom/shower either in the evening or the next morning. I suppose there's a bathroom... More

Within sight of the GAP this is one of favorite B&B's. We have pedaled from Pittsburgh to DC and many trips inbetween, but we always look forward to stopping at the Gingerbread House. This wasn't our first time here and it won't be our last. Mary Ann is a great host. She is there for you when you need her,... More

The best thing about this property is its proximity to the GAP bike trail. It is also clean. But the rooms are very small and during our July stay were very hot and stuffy. The house is not air conditioned. Opening the windows brought traffic and train noise, but no relief from the heat. Two other negative points for us... More

We found the Gingerbread house nicely furnished, clean and it has a great porch. As a biker I appreciate a nice place to put my bottom down after a long day riding. I would have appreciated knowing that this B&B does not have Air Conditioning. Don't stop here if you want a cool stay on a hot summer's night.

This was a fine place to stay while cycling the GAP. In fact, it can be seen from the trail, which is comforting after miles of trial, albeit gorgeous. We like to celebrate the end of each day with a bottle of wine. The wrap around porch of The Gingerbread House was perfect . Dinner involved WALKING ( cyclist, you... More

My mom and I stayed at the Gingerbread House during our bike ride along the GAP. Since we were out on our first long ride we decided to make it a short one so we had the pleasure of staying here for two nights! Our room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was excellent both days! I would highly recommend... More

Twice, my husband and I made the Pittsburgh to DC trip on our bicycles but, in order to keep up with our group, were unable to find time to take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery along the trail. So we set aside a few days to revisit some of the prettier areas. We chose the Gingerbread House B&B in Rockwood,... More

Stayed here while biking the Great Allegheny Passage. Clean, modern rooms with a full, hot breakfast. Would recommend.
