If a private bathroom is important to you, this is not the place for you. The jacuzzi suite is described as having a private bathroom. The definition of "private" may mean different things to different people. Yes, there is a toilet in your room, it is right next to the bed, practically touching the pillow your head is laying on!... If you love to stay at bed and breakfasts when travelling because you like socializing and good breakfasts, then you must stay here. Lisa loves to decorate for the holidays, so we found the house decorated for Halloween. It was kitted out with decorations everywhere, and she says she celebrates whatever holiday is coming up. It was fun to be... More

Lisa is a great host and really into decorating. Best place around, especially for nice trips to explore the back roads of the Big Valley with all its Mennoites and Amish people. Very good value for money. Good job, well done!

Kayla and I had a great weekend staying at our bed and breakfast in Reedsville Pa. Jim and Lisa are wonderful owners but while visiting we felt more at home then at a business. That personal touch that most places are missing is definitely evident while staying at The Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast. The breakfast was home made and... More

Briar Rose is an inviting place to spend a day or two. Owner Lisa is a warm and accommodating person with lots of suggestions for fun things to do. Our room was cozy. We were the only ones there that night so had the shared bathroom all to ourselves. It might be a problem if the other rooms were occupied.

I planned this getaway based on a special they had on Living Social. The house is very charming. Lisa is a decorating zealot; I thought the house looked adorable (hearts and flowers everywhere, a real cupid invasion). And although we went in January and it was cold outside; we stayed in the Jacuzzi room that had a romantic feel. It... More

Took a quick getaway to Central PA this past weekend and stayed with my wife at the Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast, and that turned out to be a wonderful decision. The house is charming and in an easy location to find, right off the main road. Rooms were delightfully and tastefully furnished, and Lisa was just transitioning from the... More

On a rise above the small two-lane road into the tiny town of Reedsville, this well maintained 1887 "tourist home" presents arrivals with a cheerful sight. Our first impression on arriving here was that a gaggle of home decorators gone wild! Everything was decorated, even the trees and sidewalk! Since this was Easter there were eggs along the sidewalk, eggs... More
