The inn staff were very pleasant in this very old place (built in 1859 as a hotel). It backs up to a hillside with some outdoor seating areas and a hot tub. The location next to the Rail TRail allowed for an enjoyable stroll one afternoon. We were in the area visiting family on a longer trip and so chose... More

Sorry you didn't like the Rail Trail Room. Like most B & B's, Jackson House is a historic building. Thus, the rooms and bathrooms simply can't be as large and soundproof as chain hotel rooms. We do have a suitcase stand in that room, along with a bistro table and chairs...no need to put suitcases on the floor. Both staircases... More

We enjoyed our stay very much at the Jackson House. It is in a very small town but there is no limit of things to do. It is a wonderful way to "get away". Pam is an excellent host and cooks up a delicious breakfast. We'll be back!

What set this place apart was the attentive and friendly service. Pam, the proprietor was ever attentive to our needs and great fun to talk with. Breakfast, which was made to order for us, consisted of pineapples, bananas, and blueberries, followed by eggs Benedict and fried potatoes. Served with orange pineapple banana juice and coffee it was a delicious and... More

A very relaxing laid-back stay. If you like to cycle the NCR and Heritage Rail Trail a great stop over or start point. No pressure to do anything but relax and enjoy. The Innkeeper was very friendly and offered history of the house and area. We are looking forward to returning. Information on winery and ale trails amongst other activities... More

Just celebrated a big birthday by staying two nights at Jackson House and bicycling two days on the rail trail that runs right by there! It was the perfect location for riding to York and back one day, then south and back another day. The jacuzzi was so relaxing after long rides, and the delicious breakfasts fueled us wonderfully. Our... More

We went to a wedding in Maryland, and I found JacksonHouse online. We rented several rooms and enjoyed our stay immensely. The history and 'character' of the site, plus the hospitality of the Owners and staff was perfect. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique experience.

Owner Pam was very friendly and helpful, spending a lot of time informing us of the nearby attractions. The inn is historic and charming, with hidden gardens and well-appointed rooms. There are an antiques store, a hiking trail, and an excursion train--all within a few yards of our room. (The train station is in another town a few minutes away.).... More

My wife & I have celebrated our last two wedding anniversaries (14 & 15) at the Jackson House. We have stayed in the cottage both times. A beautiful private suite, which was originally the ice house. The innkeeper, Pam Nicholson, is terrific, cooks a great breakfast, and gave us wonderful recommendations on where to eat and what to do during... More
