Not 5 star hotel but has a lot of soul for broadminded traveler. Punxsutawney was the smallest place during our 9-day visit but it was a nice stop in many ways. First to see this "Groundhog town" and it´s biggest hotel just on the main street. Second realize that there are many this size of towns where people can live... more

The room was small and had nothing but the beds and TV. The ad said it had microwave, coffee maker, and a refridgerator in the room. The room was small. I checked in and went to the room then checked out. I stayed in a motel near by and it was 100% better than the hotel. It's room was larger... more

If you want to be in Punxsutawney for 'groundhog day' then you have no choice other than to subject yourself to the Pantall. And, unlike the film, which was actually filmed in Woodville Illinois - because Punxsutawney is such a dump - this was a bad film experience. You cannot book in to the hotel in advance without sending a... more

First, I must say that the staff was unfailingly friendly. They greeted our group warmly and had gift bags in each of our rooms with water bottles, brochures for local businesses and other assorted small goodies. All of our interactions with the staff were good. Also, I was told that the hotel had just changed hands, so hopefully the things... more

I love to stay in older historic hotels when I travel. I'm a big weather freak and I loved staying here as it was close to the Weather discovery center, restaurants, food store, the Mahoning Civic Center and park, groundhog zoo, etc. etc. I stayed from May 2-4, 2008. I didn't have to drive anywhere except Gobbler's Knob. It was... more

First off this is a great historic Hotel. I worked in a similar one for many years that had been beautifully restored and I love the charm. My husband and I stayed there for my birthday and to visit my daughter in the nearby college. We had drinks in the bar, ate a wonderful breakfast in the restaurant the next... more

Its a nice older Hotel. I love Historical hotels.. and think this was nice for a older place. It was clean and the people working here were very nice. WI-Fi worked fine. I would recomend it to people, it is what it is, and for the cost. Save the historical hotels! more

The negative reviews were written by the very people I dislike meeting elsewhere. Part of the travel experience is to try something new. The Pantall Hotel is a well-kept, very clean old hotel. I graduated from the local high school and still have an elderly mother living in town so I travel to Punxsy regularly. I have spent many summers... more

This is an very old hotel that has supposedly been renovated---it is a dump. Wireless internet did not work. The hotel ripped me off for a one minute call in the same area code for $3.57. Stay away from this ripoff hotel. more

I just stayed at the Pantall Hotel in Punxsutawney, PA. First of all, you have to understand that you are in a small, depressed town in middle Pennsylvania. The Pantall Hotel is an old, historic hotel, so therefore, it shows its age. My stay was average. The room was small, but enough for 2 people to sleep. The room was... more
