I hate that I forgot to review this facility immediately--my visit was for the Steelers-Broncos game in Dec. You can't beat this spot for a Steelers game as it's just a couple blocks from the gate. But just staying in this old refurbished house is quite a treat in and of itself. The host will give you a tour, and... More

I can't speak to what it's like to stay here for the night, but I was here for an event for the evening and it was lovely. The parking is pretty minimal, but there is pay parking on the street (free at night) if needed. Nicky's Thai restaurant nearby is well worth making an effort to check out! There's also... More

This victorian bed and breakfast has been meticulously restored and updated. We enjoyed the wonderful private back yard court, complete with sand and lush gardens. Breakfast was delicious, and we were within walking distance of the subway and local attractions.

My husband and I went here the weekend we got engaged and were in town for the steelers game. The B&B is walking distance from the stadium as well as several nice bars/restaurants. We were greeted warmly and given a tour of the B&B which is in great shape and perfectly decorated. The breakfasts were fantastic and we also enjoyed... More

It's a beautiful old mansion from the late 1800s that's been restored. The decor is quite amazing.....antiques, but with Caribbean flare!! We were lucky enough to be staying at the Parador close to Halloween. The innkeeper, Ed, has collected a wide range of art and Caribbean decor. I loved walking in with island music playing and a steel drum in... More

Hi Evans Caribbean, Normally I respond publicly to negative reviews and privately to positive review. I can't figure out who you are. I had no one in African Tulip during the month of October from Washington, DC. I would like to thank you for writing the very kind review. More than that, I appreciate you taking the time and effort... More

The Inn is the most beautiful bed and breakfast we've stayed in and those are many. The breakfasts were abundant, delicious and showed imagination. The rooms were spotless. We gave the service a small downgrade because Ed is not the warmest of innkeepers, though he served breakfast very competently. His check in was kind of business like, and maybe it... More

Hi Leeny, thank you for your candid review. I can be a bit stiff at times, particularly at check-in when I have a bunch of information I need to pass on, particularly when I am checking several people at the same time. Things can get distracted. Also, during breakfast, my focus is ensuring my guests get a great breakfast. When... More

This might have been the worst B&B experience that I ever had! It all starts with Ed, the inns owner. He is not one to make a guest feel welcome....he makes you feel as though you should be thanking him for letting us even stay! After the long list of things we could not do, which included not having breakfast... More

Mike, you blocked four rooms in March and within the two week cancellation period you cancelled two of the rooms, so you were able to avoid the cancellation fee that was clearly stated in the Confirmation letter you received in March . I couldn't get a straight answer out of you from the beginning who was going to be in... More

The Parador Inn is rather quirky. It's a big old house furnished with antiques, but then there are unusual touches related to the "Caribbean" theme, such as the stuffed alligator on our bed. We found that amusing, but the bed itself was a disaster, with its marshmallow-like mattress. In addition, light leaked in from the hall through the transom and... More

My husband and I stayed at the Parador Inn last year for the weekend of the Allegheny West Christmas House tour in the area. It was a great location for the festivities in the neighborhood and we had a wonderful time curling up next to the gas fireplace on a cold evening. Especially loved the claw foot tub and the... I took my son to see the Pittsburgh Steelers game this weekend and we stayed at The Parador Inn. The rooms, amenities and service were outstanding and the owner could not have been nicer and more professional. The Inn is a short walk from the Steelers' and Pirates' stadiums. Highly recommended for a great place to stay in Pittsburgh.
