This hotel was a welcome sight for our tired eyes after a cross-country trip to take our son back to the University of Pittsburgh. The front staff was EXTREMELY helpful in directing us where to park with our UHaul trailer, so we could quickly get settled. The hotel is a bit run down and musty (probably the Pitt humidity playing... More

I recently stayed at the Quality Inn University Center in Pittsburgh, PA while visiting to attend some Pirates games. My first impression of the hotel was the friendliness of the hotel clerk who's name I believe was Amber. She answered questions I had regarding the surroundings and the bus stops in the area as I didn't have a vehicle. All... More

Everything was good. The hotel is a little outdated but clean. I appreciated the free parking! We were able to walk to the PIttsburgh Campus. It was my first time staying in the city; since the price was right, I would stay again.

A good part of my review can be in Sam M of Ohio from July 2014. We moved to another apartment for my daughter and found the freshmen were moving into their dorms the same weekend. Consequently, most of the hotels near the colleges were almost booked, so we found the last room in Oakland area with the Quality Inn.... More

So we arrive after a long drive to this hotel which is easily walkable to the University of Pittsburgh. The person who checks us in is pleasant and helpful and the room is fine. But at midnight (12:07 to be exact) I get a call from the front desk asking who I am and why am I in this room!... More

Went to Pittsburgh on a college tour with my son. I picked this hotel because of price and somewhat close location to Carnegie Mellon Univ. While the location is good, the hotel is badly in need of repairs and renovating. Our room was large and comfortable, but the sliding glass door onto the balcony was single pane so there was... More

The lobby Is clean and inviting, but the elevators smell like rotting food as well as the hallways. The hotel Is dated but the carpeting and beds are new and very clean. Our room (416) had VERY roughly patched holes in the wall And a bad paint job (paint on doorknobs, tub, mirror.) The room was large though, and the... More

We travelled to Pittsburgh for a concert and we were looking for a cheap hotel for the night. To be honest, the rating/ quality of the hotel did not matter to us as we weren't planning on being in the room that much. From the two star review on TripAdvisor, I was sort of expecting the worst, however, i was... More

I can deal with dated as long as a room is clean and comfortable. But noisy is hard to deal with - I'm in room 201 and you can hear every noise coming from the street - lots of traffic with emergency vehicles mixed in and way worse is my noisy neighbors above us on their balcony or room who... Thank you for your review. I apologize about the noise you encountered during your stay. The hotel is located in a very busy part of town and right off of a main road. This has been our "go-to" place ever since our first "admit-weekend" trip to check out Carnegie Mellon three years ago. Our most recent trip was this April.
