If you are going to spend more than one night away from home, consider this hotel. The location is perfect-it is within minutes' driving distance to the University of Pittsburgh and nearby Carnegie Mellon. A shuttle will take you to the University of Pittsburgh if that is where you are headed. The hotel is within a 5-10 minute walking distance... More

This Residence Inn is definitely not the crown jewel in what really is a fine chain of hotels. Rode up the elevator to the check-in / breakfast area and was asked if i had a floor preference. I really didn't and was assigned a room on the 4th floor. You need to access the guest rooms via a completely different... More

There were several good things about this hotel, but the elevator system was not one of them. It is not possible to get from the parking lot to your room without quite a bit of walking and then changing elevators. It would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues to navigate this hotel comfortably. As others have listed, the building... More

This hotel was fine, but really not up to date compared to other hotels. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Excellent breakfast buffet. The TV kept losing connection. The hot tub was only at 86-90 degrees (just above Luke warm) and was a disaster when the bubbles come on. Even with sitting up straight the bubbles are crazy and splash... More

When we checked in, the man at the desk was openly hostile. When my parents did not understand what he said, he raised his voice and rolled his eyes. Yes, we are immigrants, but we want to be treated with respect, especially by an employee at a hotel that probably has lots of foreign visitors. When our room was cleaned,... More

Comfortable rooms, good breakfast buffet, excellent staff. Conveniently located right near the center of town. I must comment on the cleanliness of the breakfast buffet. The gentleman was constantly cleaning the buffet and replenishing the food. I have stayed at 5 star hotels that do not have the same standards. You will not be disappointed.

Very good amenities and location was close to University of Pittsburg. The hot breakfast was a plus. The hotels had weight room and swimming pool which my son used and liked. Will come again when we go to Pittsburg.

I stayed at this hotel based on its proximity to the University of Pittsburgh, as I could walk to the campus in 20 minutes or less. The set up of the Residence Inn is very useful with a separate bedroom and room. When we arrived, the front desk staff could not locate the required information for my conference and I... More

The Residence Inn Pittsburgh University/Medical Center provided us the basics that we were looking for--kids in a separate room from my husband and I, a full kitchen, and an indoor pool. Location was good, and free breakfast buffet was a nice perk. But I only give it three stars because it was not near as nice as many other Residence... More

The Good: Great location: convenient to campus, Carnegie museums, and relatively easy to get downtown. Onsite parking is $15/day Breakfast: This is probably the best brekafast selection I've seen across any Marriott propoerty Fitness/Pool: Great rec pool for kids with a hot tub. Fitness room has treadmills, ellipticals, bike, free weigts and a cable trainer. Staff: Day staff are as... More
