This is a hidden gem right in downtown Pittsburgh. This historic property is great. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The Monk's Bar off of the lobby is a gathering place, as well as the courtyard and porch to the rear. This is one of the few places downtown that offers free parking. In addition they have a complimentary... More

We arrived at The Priory Hotel after 27 hours in airports and planes getting to Pittsburgh from our home in Australia, and from the moment we walked up the steps we felt at home. It was late when we checked in but a nightcap with Nikki in the bar revived our spirits enormously. The room was excellent - spacious, with... More

We stayed at the Priory Hotel for two nights. The building is interesting and historic, but the experience itself fell a little short of expectations. Like other posters, I did notice that the surrounding streets are "in transition." There are houses that have been beautifully rennovated and others that need work, but I never felt unsafe in the area. Apparently,... More

The Priory is a charming, historic, boutique-style hotel. It is located on a quiet, neighborhood street in the Deutchland, northeast section of Pittsburgh. Vestiges of its past as a Benedictine Monastery remain. It turned out to be a wonderful basecamp for our exploration of the city. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable with internet access either through Ethernet or wireless... More

We spent one night here since we were going to the Pirates game at PNC Field. Once you get off Route 28 and turn the corner to get to Pressley Street, there is a gas station and a food market. There are individuals "hanging out" in the parking lots in groups. When we drove by we got "eyed up." This... More

We appreciate this guest’s patronage, and based on his/ her review it seems as if he/she enjoyed the experience of our hotel. However, we disagree with this guest’s categorization of our neighborhood, Deutschtown. The Priory Hotel has been open in this neighborhood for nearly 30 years. In all of this time, never once have we had a guest who has... More

I want to start by saying that this is a very nice little hotel, for the most part. It has a sort of European charm. My family visited and occupied a number of rooms. Most of them were fantastic. One group of my family had originally booked a suite in the main building but they were bumped because of a... More

Loved the Priory. Having the shuttle service made getting around Pittsburgh very easy. They were very prompt. They offer a date night package which includes a $50 gift certificate for a local restaurant and a bottle of wine waiting for you, on ice, in your room. It was a great value. We went to the James Street Gastro Pub and... More

When we first got off the freeway to find the Priory Hotel, I was a little concerned about the location of the hotel. This was obviously an area undergoing some urban renewal; several of the houses were very nice while others were boarded up. However, the hotel provided good parking in a lot across from the hotel with good security.... More

Thanks so much for your feedback on our property, and we're pleased that you had an overall pleasant experience at the Priory Hotel. Regarding our neighborhood, Deutschtown, it is a historic area with many landmark homes and buildings located just across the Allegheny River from downtown Pittsburgh. Deutschtown's residents are extremely dedicated to celebrating their environment. National attractions in the... More

My daughter and I stayed here while visiting Pittsburgh for a baseball game. Easy walk to PNC Park or Heinz Field, and I took a nice 5 mile walk in the morning & crossed four of the bridges. Hotel was beautiful and the staff friendly. Very good free breakfast. I booked separate rooms and was given one of the townhouses... More

Parking looks very limited at first, but there is a larger area controlled by the hotel that is just around the corner. Room was fine, though shower could use updating. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was continental with a European tilt, and was excellent. Within walking distance of downtown though two blocks away the neigborhood looks a bit funky.
