I need three things in a hotel or in this case a B&B, CLEAN Room, a good bed, and a decent TV which is my way of relaxing. It was pretty clean the bed was poor and the TV was very poor. You must be a cat lover to stay here and be willing to share your table with a... More

Our room ( the Reisling room) was actually more like a suite. We had a small sitting room, nice-sized bedroom and very large bathroom. Decor was Victorian in feel, which I love. The breakfast was sumptuous: peach crumb muffins, yeast rolls with preserves, and a choice of fruited French toast or quiche. The are a few opportunities for slight improvement:... More

We stayed in the Cabernet suite. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was very large. We noticed ear plugs on the night stand when we came in. As soon as we went to bed, we realized why they were there. The wood floors in the room above made it sound like tap dancers above you. Otherwise, a... More

Thank you for your input! I do wish you had called me if the folks above you were being particularly noisy. When the Cabernet Suite was remodeled several years ago, we had spray foam insulation put in the walls and ceiling, and have never had a complaint about upstairs noise! We try out best to create the best experience for... More

My husband and I had our second visit there and received excellent service! The Cabernet suite is wonderful, the inn is charming, the food--OUTSTANDING and Paul, the host is fantastic! He made us feel so welcome and at home we adored him! All our needs were met and we had a wonderful stay! We only live about 45 mins away... More

Spent an overnight on our way to northern MI with my daughter. We received a warm welcome and suggestions for dinner. We were not disappointed at all. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and plenty of it! Would return in a heartbeat!

This BnB is on main street convenient to downtown area. Plenty of parking in back. Probably best breakfast at any BnB we have stayed at. Fresh fruit, homemade muffins, quiche, lemon pancakes, coffee, juice. Stayed in Concord room which has a king bed but bathroom very small. Shower is small to move around in but we knew that ahead of... More

Thank you for your kind words! We work hard to make everything tasty, clean and relaxing. And yes, do use caution (go slow) pulling into the driveway. I would just like to make a correction--the bed in Concord is a Queen, not a King. More

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay in the charming small town of North East, Pennsylvania, and were very fortunate to have found this beautiful bed and breakfast. It's easy to walk into the city center for dinner or a stroll in the very pretty park. We stayed in the Chancellor Suite, a spacious three-room accommodation that we would have loved... More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! The decor in the Chancellor Suite is set up to be typically Victorian--jewel tones and black and gold.--cozy, particularly in the cooler months. Our website has numerous pictures of every room--so you can be sure to pick something that suits your taste. The Riesling Suite, for example, has a floral decor. More

My husband and I recently stayed 2 nights in the cabernet suite. It is spacious and reminded me of my grandmother's house. The jetted tub was great, the breakfasts were fabulous and the vibrant colored lillies on the grounds were gorgeous! The big downside was the trains. Our second night, I counted 10 trains passing by between 4:00 and 5:15... More

We are sorry the the trains bothered you! Some days there are none, and some days there are a few. Those who grew up with them love the sound and find it relaxing, others are used to a more rural environment. As you mentioned, we do provide earplugs which do solve the problem for almost everyone! Heading into the Lake Erie Wine Country for a round of tastings? The Grape Arbor B&B is possibly the best B&B anywhere. The property is old, historic to North East, but well maintained. Check in did not make a good first impression due to a glitch, but everything else was close to perfect. We were four college friends together for... More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! I am sorry that you felt unwelcome upon check in, but many first time B&B stayers don't realize that, unlike a hotel, showing up early can cause timing issues with staffing. So we try hard to work to accommodate folks, and try to choose whether a guest would react worse to... More

Lovely, spacious room, very friendly service and great three course breakfast. Evan got cookies to take on the road! We found the train whistle pleasant and not at all a problem (but we do live in downtown Chicago). Only wish we could open the windows.

Yay! We try to make just enough cookies so that all are eaten each day. Everyone seems to have a different viewpoint of the trains; for some they bring back happy memories, for others they are a nuisance--but they are not at all predictable. The windows do open, but because we keep the air conditioning on the maintain an even... More
