This is a blight on Newtown. It just needs to start over, beginning with new ownership. About once a year my husband and I will end up here because everywhere else is so crowded and it just gets worse and worse. Last nights joke was the fact that I ordered a Tito on the rocks and the kid that they... More

I didn't expect perfect in an old hotel but this was awful. It is December, 40 degrees tonight. First room still had the window air conditioner with no guards on sides so room is frigid. They did an upgrade. Same thing in this room but there are 2 electric heaters plugged in & ONE TO AN EXTENSION CORD! This also... More

Shortage of food. Buffet style. "Prime rib" consisted of small slices of fatty material. Bill contained added 20% gratuity for party of 4. Most items were missing from serving platters. Home made apple sauce was a liquid mess that poured from the serving spoon. Generally a disaster. STAY AWAY.

After living ing in Newtown for 18 years we decided to have a weeknight dinner at this landmark. The outdoor patio always looks so inviting. We started with cocktails. We each had a mojito. It tasted like a awful wine cooler! Then we went on to dinner. Our server gave us brrad. There was two of us and we got... More

I had 5 encounters with ghosts there, and I didn't believe in them until now. In 201, a woman was spotted. In 202, I was awakened by my doorknob jiggling and turning and the door making a sound as if being pushed against. Then I heard some sobbing. it happened a second time at 4am, without the sobbing. They don't... More

This hotel is so awful it has prompted me to write my first review, ever. I am the lazy sort of traveler that has traditionally relied upon the reviews of others and never seems to quite get around to writing my own. I stayed here because a co-worker selected the hotel for its geographic location for some business we needed... More

We attended a midweek dinner meeting with a group of 25-30 people. Service was friendly and attentive. Chicken marsala & pasta entrees were well prepared and served hot. Fruit-glazed cheesecake was delicious. Our complaint was NOT the food, but that the restaurant's carpeting, restrooms, and HVAC system can truly use a thorough overhaul and cleaning ... Those things really do... More

This review is of the restaurant. The Brick Hotel is a very pretty place to eat and the food is very good. We go there regularly to walk around Newtown and eat at the Brick Hotel. The view from the terrace is also very nice.

We had pre-paid for 2 nights and expected that as an older 18th century building it might have a few quirks, but that does not even begin to describe the problems. We chose it because of the location -which is nice. We were booked for the "Presidential Suite" and after schlepping our luggage up 3 flights of very slanted steps... More

We spent one night at The Brick Hotel. My husband was there on business, so he chose this hotel so I could walk to the downtown shops and restaurants while he worked. The hotel is definitely interesting in the history it represents. However, the rooms, while maintaining some of the original "charm", are in need of refreshment. The floors were... More
