We attended a midweek dinner meeting with a group of 25-30 people. Service was friendly and attentive. Chicken marsala & pasta entrees were well prepared and served hot. Fruit-glazed cheesecake was delicious. Our complaint was NOT the food, but that the restaurant's carpeting, restrooms, and HVAC system can truly use a thorough overhaul and cleaning ... Those things really do... More

This review is of the restaurant. The Brick Hotel is a very pretty place to eat and the food is very good. We go there regularly to walk around Newtown and eat at the Brick Hotel. The view from the terrace is also very nice.

We had pre-paid for 2 nights and expected that as an older 18th century building it might have a few quirks, but that does not even begin to describe the problems. We chose it because of the location -which is nice. We were booked for the "Presidential Suite" and after schlepping our luggage up 3 flights of very slanted steps... More

We spent one night at The Brick Hotel. My husband was there on business, so he chose this hotel so I could walk to the downtown shops and restaurants while he worked. The hotel is definitely interesting in the history it represents. However, the rooms, while maintaining some of the original "charm", are in need of refreshment. The floors were... More

If you like duct tape on the wallpaper in the hallways, an air conditioner that screeches like an air raid siren and gaping holes in the bedroom shades, then this place is for you. Granted this is a very old historic building but I think George Washington would have opted to stay at Valley Forge than stay here.

So here we were. The Brick Hotel...good reputation for food and has been around for a L O N G time...so we... More

This place is unclean--unkempt, old musty rooms. We were planning a wedding and I couldn't tell guests to stay in these old, dark rooms. Go to Homewood Suites! In addition, do not plan an event here. They pretend they give fair prices and then add on little, hidden upcharges. They do not honor their contracts and try to gouge customers... More

This person stayed there and then at check out wanted her money back. So the manager stated it is non refundable. The place is old 250 year old building but not dirty. People confuse old looking with dirty. The health inspector visits us 3 times a year but never reports it as dirty. This was not a review, its a... More

Nice hotel, in a small historical town. The hotel was some history it was built 1760 something. It did give you the olden feel. I was alone so I had the smallest room, but they did have rooms with queen or King bed. I did not eat at their restaurant, it looks very nice with a good menu, but to... More

I just had my husband's funeral luncheon at the Brick Hotel on May 19, 2014. The original headcount I'd given Tammy, the event coordinator, was for 26 but at the start of the memorial service, it seemed there would be 59 for lunch! Well, the funeral director called Tammy, who never missed a beat, and not only increased the food... More
