We stayed three nights in one of Chanterelle's adorable cottages and absolutely loved every minute. Dinner at the Inn was simply superb! Keith has a wonderful sense of humor and made us feel very welcomed. The cottage was the perfect size for us (hubby & I) and had everything we needed. We did end up needing a very large pot... More

We had the pleasure of spending several nights at the Chanterelle Inn. Upon driving up the driveway we felt confident we had made the right choice. It just got better from there. The manager was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated in antique furnishings and the bed was extremely comfortable. The dining area/library was a wonderful place... More

Fabulous food, service and location. Friendly, and family run. Only came for dinner, as had read a positive review online. Would come back to stay as well! The food was absolutely incredible, and there was an impressive wine list too!

We spent a week at Chanterelle Country Inn in October 2014 while attending a wedding. We instantly fell in love with this serene property surrounded by colourful foliage of automn trees. Location is quite convenient - there is a Ocean View restaurant 15 min drive and Baddeck is about half an hour drive, and it is close to Sydney airport.... More

Ah, yes. the wedding was just too much fun! And the couple's guests, such as yourselves, were all so gracious and appreciative. By the time everyone had gone, I felt as if your family was mine! And, yes, the weather and fall colours added a beautiful complement! One factual correction: While I am so pleased that members of the staff... More

What a fantastic place to visit and stay!. My wife and I traveled to Cape Breton for the week-long, international Celtic Colours music festival in mid-October. The views from the inn and cottage where we stayed were stunning; the fall foliage was unlike anything seen in U.S. The central location near the Gaelic College and Baddeck made it easier to... Such lovely thoughts---thank you and thank you too for taking the time to write about your experience during the Celtic Colours Music Festival. It is a great celebration of the rich Gaelic heritage found in this area. Last fall, the weather and foliage were truly "showing off ". On a personal note, I thank you for your expression of appreciation... More

This is a super place, and ideal location to see the sights on the Cabot Trail. We stayed in one of the cottages, that had a a 'bed sitter' arrangement with the king bed, lounge area together with the kitchen. It had a lovely deck and gorgeous view of the valley. We had dinner in the main inn, which has... More

Thank you for your most kind words. It was just too much fun having you with us . We are convinced that having a great sense of humor must be in the DNA of Australians! I am glad the arrangement whereby you fixed your own breakfasts in the cottage but joined us in the inn for dinner worked well. Yes,... More

My family stayed at the Chanterelle In for four nights in August and used it as a base to explore Cape Breton Island. Our room was perfect for us -- a two-room suite with separate space for our seven-year-old son and plenty of room to spread out, though we spent most of our time outdoors or in the lounge. We... I appreciate the time you took to write such a great review! We enjoyed the positive energy your family brought to the inn! You already know this but---your son is a great kid and was so much fun. Thanks for your appreciation of the efforts we make to source our culinary ingredients locally. It helps us to help the Cape... More

Thank you so very much for your most generous review. I am especially pleased that you enjoyed our breakfast. It gives me great pleasure to serve a complete, hot breakfast to our guests as it is my favorite meal of the day. Clean and comfortable rooms. Ecologically correct amenities and linens, that are also surprisingly excellent in quality. The restaurant is the jewel, however. Great hikes nearby and good way to start the Cabot Trail.

Bizarro. Watched his video too and sort of intelligent ( surprisingly!). Wanna go check it out?! This ok for chanterelle ? We stayed in 6 different B&Bs and Inns on Cape Breton and this was the most expensive room for the lowest value. Our twin room could have had a great view but the window was smallish and need to... Thank you for taking time to write a review of your stay at the Chanterelle Inn. I am pleased you enjoyed dinner on the verandah and noted our effort to present the amazing local ingredients found on Cape Breton! Yes, regrettably, the view from the room is limited because of the height of the windows. This is because of the... More
