I read a lot of reviews and it does help me decide on places to stay,so i thought i should also write a review for others to be aware of when deciding on camping at buttonwood. My biggest complaint is the $17 a week wrist bands for the kids to be able to use the facilities available to kids. I... More

The grounds are very well kept, staff is friendly and accommodating, the cabin I had was small but very cozy and clean. I traveled alone with a small dog. I did not have a problem with the train as others mentioned. I could not hear it from my cabin, and in my opinion adds to the charm the facility. I... More

The only reason I cannot recommend this facility for 5 star rating is due to their proximity to a locomotive main line that cuts through the midstate. The trains do run all day and night and would certainly disturb the light sleepers and most anyone in a tent. The family togetherness theme is definitely there. From build your own cardboard... More

stayed 2 nites in July. Really overpriced and the water is kind of brown colored and made us kind of sick . after we mentioned it to other campers they said no one drinks the water there. there are no warning signs. They nare really trying to maximise profits so they are probably skimping on water treatment. spent 3 months... More

The park is family owned and friendly. Staff couldn't be more welcoming or informative. We received an escort to our spot which was right on the river. The grounds were well taken care of and there was a security gate too. There are lots of activities for families and the river was great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. The bathhouses... More

Buttonwood is a family owned, family cared for, family friendly campground located on the Juniata river. Have been camping for 35 years and this campground ranks at the top! The pool is a bit small but there is river access, so bring your kayaks and tubes. The landscaping is done by the son of the owner, Mike McFarland...amazing!!!! Mile is... More

This campground has a lot going for it. Unfortunately, the noise issues can negate many of them. We loved that they have plenty of things for kids to do and the grounds are generally pretty nice. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and polite. You're probably going to be happiest here if you're in an RV rather... More

The campground is made for RV's, it is clean but close together . My husband and friends booked the a tent site as an end of season camping trip. We have an 8 man tent and are used to camping "in nature". They have 5 tent sites, 3 of which are right on the street so headlights, revving engines and... More

The campground is located right along the Juniata River. It is a large campground offering much for families with kids. Bath houses were clean, the office is open late, nice pool. Average price per night $45. One downside, a train runs along the other side of the river at all hours. Would stay again.

We go to this campground a few times a year. It's about a 2 hour drive and the drive up is beautiful. There is a lot for the kids to do. We get them a wristband and they can play all weekend on the pedal carts, bounce pillow and putt putt golf. They have activities that aree fun for the... More
