We visited for the tidal bore rafting experience. What an amazing 4 hours! Our guide, Steve (and his dog Patches) was awesome. He had a lot of knowledge of the area and how the tides and tidal bore worked. He was loads of fun on the trip. Rafting the waves was amazing. Steve made sure we had a great (and... More

Fair value at $125, our cottage was clean and well-appointed with a nice deck out front. Unfortunately, we were counting on eating at the onsite restaurant featured on their website but it wasn’t open for dinner or breakfast during our stay. I wish proprietors would take more care to present their offerings accurately, since travellers often depend on what is... More

My family and I had rented the master chalet. We had to call to make our reservation as our emails where not returned, figured this was do to just being busy and wanted a quick response. After get in touch with them and booking. I asked them to email a map and info. After the third phone call for confirmation, I... More

We stayed the night before the rafting adventure the next morning. The cabins are beautiful, clean, with nice showers/bathroom, and kitchen, but the beds leave a lot to be desired comfort-wise. We didn't try the restaurant (didn't look open), but opted instead to get food from the local grocery store. The rafting adventure was a fabulous time. It's an informal... More

We went out rafting with a group of nine, ranging in ages from seven to 52 (the seven-year-old being the biggest thrill seeker!) We had a BLAST!! Dawson, our captain, was wonderfully patient and gave everyone an amazing ride. The entire experience was so worthwhile, from experiencing the beauty of the river, a bald eagle, the sand bars, the tidal... More

My family was having a reunion here and booked several cottages and all the chalets months in advance for myself, my husband and our 2 children. Personally we booked for 2 nights while many others stayed for longer. Upon checking in I had to pay upfront for both nights, unusual I thought but did not question it. We just dropped... More

I have booked a weekend at the Chalets with Tidal Bore Rafting. (Booked 3 months ago and due to stay there in 2 weeks.) The big draw was the hot tub~I had initially tried to book with Irwin Lake Chalets but they are full. It took me two weeks to get a response to book accommodations. This is a much... More

Great experience. Prepare to get soaked. Wear old clothes as the water makes everything brown. Those zodiacs they use are unsinkable and believe me the guides try to fill the boat up. We stayed the night and ate in the restaurant. Food is adequate but no vegetables (except chips) in sight. Beds are a bit hard but after a day... More

We wanted to raft with the Tidal Bore and chose The Shubenacadie Tidal Bore Rafting Park and Cottages. What a great choice! The rafting was fun and exciting. We were lucky to have a warm sunny day with extreme tides. I had never rafted before and am not too "outdoorsy" so I was a bit apprehensive. I felt very safe... More
