Once again 1740 House does not disappoint. This is our second trip this year and it just keeps getting better. After catching up with the innkeepers, Shaun and Linda, we ran into another couple that we met our previous stay and told us they'd been there twice since. We also met another great couple we became friendly with and decided... more

It had been 6 years since visiting Bucks County, and when invited to a friend’s wedding, we needed to search for a place to stay and the 1740 House was a most fortunate find. The place is centrally located in a most pleasant setting. Our room was comfortable and well appointed; a small private deck was the perfect place to... more

As a complement to our wedding in Perkasie, we arranged for our wedding party and parents to stay at the 1740 House for the weekend. What a wonderful experience! The setting was perfect--quiet, natural, and beautiful views of the river. The connected rooms allowed all of our wedding party to get to know each other--we walked the bridge to NJ... more

If you love hearing birds singing all around you all day, and watching a river rolling endlesssly by your patio and feeling pampered with homemade breakfast, this is the inn for you. Linda and her children go out of their way to make you feel special. Because it was off-season it felt like we were living in our own country... more

The drive to the 1740 House alone set the tone for the rest of trip. The gorgeous scenery leading up to our destination was a preview as to what to expect once we arrived. Everything was so quaint and clean! The room was spacious and wonderfully decorated. The ambiance of the entire Inn was perfectly serene. The day started with... more

1740 House was a real treat. The look and the decoration were wonderful. We really enjoyed the balconies, the coziness of the room, the quality bed, the view of the river and the great breakfast on the patio in the morning. We wanted to stay another day or more! The small quaint town of Lumberville and the bridge to the... more

We recently stayed for 3 nights at the 1740 House in Lumberville Pa. and had a great time. The inn is beautifully situated beside the Delaware River and is attractively decorated in American historical style. The room was clean and comfortable and the hosts were hospitable. All in all, a great holiday for 2 Canadians journeying to Bucks County more

It's been a long time since my husband and I had some downtime together, and we decided to visit the 1740 House! What a quaint and private place! While our son was on his 7th grade trip to Washington D.C., we were able to spend most of our time in room #16. The weather was raining most of the time,... more

We had a really nice stay here. The inn is large, clean, comfortable and friendly. The innkeepers, Shaun and Linda Buckler, are very new to the place, having taken over only in February of this year, and they set a really nice tone -- gracious, warm and helpful in a laid-back way. Their son (20-ish?), who also works there, was... more

Clean comfortable room overlooking the Delaware River. Shaun and Linda treated us like welcome guests not just customers. Lovely breakfast in a bright sun filled room. No dinner/lunch restaurant on site but several within minutes. The pool wasn't open but it looked nice. Very cozy. Hope to go back soon. more
