Stayed with my husband overnight for Valentine's Day. We were booked in room number 7, which was a large room with a king sized bed. It was a very cold day and the heat hadn't been raised in our room prior to our arrival, however they provided us with a space heater which warmed the room quickly. We had reserved... More

We just came back from a three day stay. Historic charm and modern comfort. Friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful view over the Delaware River. On the day that the temperatures got down to 7° and overwhelm the heating system, the staff was prompt to provide excellent space heaters which quickly made things comfortable.

We first stayed at the 1740 for Thanksgiving in 1984 and have been back more than 20 times since. After the death of the founder and inn keeper, we drifted away as the property went through a number of changes and upgrades. Came back this Thanksgiving hoping to recapture the magic we had come to love. it's better than ever...... More

I chose the 1740 House as "Base Camp" for a business trip to Bucks County with two of my colleagues. Our rooms were clean, well appointed and the views of the river, walking bridge and canal were lovely. The Inn Keepers, Richard and his wife, were helpful settling us into our rooms, giving directions and recommending restaurants for lunches and... More

Had our wedding here beginning of October and cannot give the 1740 House enough stars!  It was best venue we could have asked for!  We had small wedding with about 25 guests and this place was the perfect size.  Scenery was beautiful with the leaves just starting to change. Loved the rustic feel of the property and the view of... More

We spent a couple of nights here while we visited for a wedding in late October. It was a gorgeous fall weekend: crisp at times, with the leaves changing color and falling. The 1740 House has an amazing location right along the Delaware River, and the bedroom doors open onto a walkway/patio area that overlooks the river. You're not really... More

We were in the area for a wedding and booked into the 1740 House. This place is wonderful with real character. I'd call it a large and somewhat rustic B&B. Richard, the GM, greeted us and walked us to our room. We had chosen a Junior Suite because we were sure family and friends coming to the wedding would stop... More

Dear AKHB, I am pleased to hear you got to enjoy the entire inn and interact with the staff while attending a wedding in the area. As with many of the Tripadvisor post I like to name the staff members our guest came in contact with by name. Deb and Megan do a great job in the bar. The pub... More

We stayed one night, and unfortunately had to leave early the next morning. So we didn't get to enjoy the breakfast we've read so much about. But the staff were nice enough to prepare a small plate of cake and fruit, along with coffee and tea, for us to have before we checked out. The view from our porch was... More
