I was truly pleased with my stay at the Bancroft Manor. The owner, Mike Snyder, greeted me with a smiling face and friendly smile, that makes one feel warm and very much at home. It is located on a quiet street with a super front porch with swinging porch couch and rockers, to enjoy the breeze of large trees and... More

We had a lovely time at Bancroft Manor. The place is very well-appointed, with comfort of the guests being a top priority for our friend Mike, the Innkeeper. Breakfast was delicious and he even made us bonus brownies! I'd definitely recommend staying at Bancroft if you are visiting the Brandywine Valley area.

We stayed here two nights on a visit to see the nearby gardens (Chanticleer and Longwood). The B&B is within walking distance of "downtown" Kennett Square, which is really just a couple of blocks of shops and restaurants. Michael, the innkeeper, was very helpful. He was personable but did not butt in or chew your ear off, as some B&B... More

My husband and I stayed here with my visiting parents, the price was ok but it lacked the specialness that you expect at a B&B. Mike was nice and checked us in, no welcoming drinks or snacks at check in. The AC had to be turned on and set. The rooms were nice and clean and period looking. I must... More

Innkeeper Mike was very accommodating in making our arrangements, including a change in the number of guests. However when we checked in, Mike asked for payment up front (the abruptness startled me) and the welcome was best described as business-like. There were no welcoming amenities, such as bottled water, drinks or other refreshments. The guest refrigerator was absolutely bare. It... More

We had a fabulous time. Great location and quiet. Breakfasts fit for a king. Charming host. Our first breakfast included a portabello mushroom streak with a grilled tomato slice and scrambled eggs on top. Very fitting since we were in the mushroom capital of the world. Thank you Mike for a wonderful time.

Online booking is a *request* only, not a reservation (which I fully understood at time submitting online form). Confirmation email will say they'll be in touch, but don't count on it. It took me two additional phone calls, over the course of almost a week, to get a response, only to hear they wouldn't take my Saturday-night-only reservation in the... More

We stayed two nights, to see the Longwoood Gardens light show, and nearby Brandywine River Museum, and Hagley Museum. Mike is a fantastic innkeeper, and an excellent cook. Bed was very comfortable, rooms quiet, and reading in the chairs on either side of the fireplace was a special treat. Great location and excellent value.

This is a charming Edwardian home, beautifully maintained, extremely clean, and in an excellent location. The street it sits on is quiet, but within walking distance to Kennett Square, and only a short drive to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. The innkeeper, Mike, is a very attentive host, and works hard to make sure that his guests are comfortable. The breakfasts... More
