we just returned from three days in this charming B&B. My husband and I were impressed at the lovely architectural details of this 1910 Historic house - beautiful wood floors, baseboards, doors and windows. Comfortable furniture. Lovely and not overdone (many B&Bs seem to over-decorate, this one was cozy but tasteful). Gilja was a warm and welcoming innkeeper. And prepared... More

We took two rooms for three nights. Our son and wife joined us to celebrate Mother's Day weekend. The house is charming. We had no issues with noise from other guests, even though it was full. Breakfasts are elaborate. Gilja was kind enough to vary the menu for my wife who is diabetic. Location for sightseeing is perfect. We plan... More

I have stayed at Kennett House B&B twice now. I have also stayed in 3 of the 4 rooms. This B&B is very nice. Gilja, the owner, cooks a great breakfast and is vary gracious. The Beds are very comfy. My only complaint is that I wish Kennett Square was a little nicer. It seems to me that the world... More

My wife and I have stayed here twice, in April 2012 and again in April 2013. We prefer B & B's when we travel and have stayed in many across the U.S. This B & B is one of the nicest! Not only are the rooms immaculately cared for, with many special touches you don't usually find at a B... More

This was our 3rd stay at Kennett House. Each time, there was a new owner. The high standard of a warm welcome, comfortable room, made-to-order breakfast, and attention to detail is still being maintained.

Our stay at the Kennett House B&B was the perfect way to celebrate my 50th birthday. Gilja is a wonderful innkeeper and we love her laugh! We booked the Longwood Suite. It's a beautiful room and the bed is like sleeping on a cloud-so comfy! The location is ideal for seeing the local attractions. Gilja makes a killer mushroom omelet... More

We had a wonderful getaway to the Kennett House Bed & Breakfast. The house is beautiful and so peaceful and quiet. Our room was the Brandywine which had a really comfortable bed. The private bathroom that is adjacent to the room had all the amenities you could wish for, including a nice big bathtub for a relaxing soak. Gilja is... More

What a beautiful stay. Spent my 50th birthday with the most charming, calming, lovely lady who made a killer breakfast. She does everything right. Her home becomes yours and is absolutely magnificent and impeccably spotless. The bed was the best!

Pros: Good location for sightseeing in the Brandywine Valley Good breakfast, hostess goes out of her way to satisfy your tastes. Cons: Beware: the Brandywine bedroom does not have direct access to its own bathroom which is"adjacent"meaning you have to go out in the hall to get there. At $160 a night(2nights minimum) this in my view is unacceptable. Since the... More

The beautifully-cared for 1912 home is an excellent choice for visiting the Brandywine Valley. A few blocks from Kennett Square's town center it offers easy access to the town's shops and restaurants and, more importantly, to the area's fabulous sites, Longwood Garden, Hagley and Winterthur to name just a few of interesting, and beautiful, places in the area. The Delaware... More
