I traveled with a group of four. We stayed on the third floor of the carriage house at Pat's suggestion that it would be nice for us to have two rooms across from each other (the only rooms on the floor). I'm very glad we made that choice instead of staying in the mansion - we had a lot of... More

Harry Packer Mansion is a lovely place to stay for the weekend. The accommodations are beautiful. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. But the murder mystery that was the point of our weekend was the boringest, biggest waste of time I have ever experienced. The host assigns characters on the first night, but you never get... More

We have visited over the last year tens of historic hotels including grand, castle and mansion hostelries. This 1874 mansion is probably the most authentic of all. We look to the setting, hotel and local history, architecture and ambience among other key factors. This fits the bill in almost all respects. The builder, Harry's father Asa Parker built his own... We were the only two guests. We hardly even got a hello. No offering of coffee or a drink or any conversation..."Here is the key to your room" was basically it. For the price, which was about $350.00, you got a room. The innkeepers fought with each other. There is no tv in the room. It was very boring. The... More

The Harry Packer Mansion is beautiful, and Pat, Bob, Taylor and Kristen are so welcoming. We were there for the Murder Mystery weekend, and I highly recommend it. Bob's murder mystery story was very entertaining, and he had us laughing all weekend. We also learned a lot about the history of the Packer family and the Jim Thorpe area.

We had a lovely stay at the Mansion. We stayed in the Carriage House and it was lovely. The room was spacious and the pictures def didn't do it justice. We had the same access to the Mansion as if we were to stay in one of the Mansion rooms. The Breakfast Buffet was set in a large Victorian Room... More

We stayed during a recent road trip around Eastern Pennsylvania, and fell in love with the Harry Packer Inn. It was a slow week, so we were upgraded to a suite, and we literally felt like we were living in a movie (or Downton Abbey!) for two days. The owners are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing the history of... More

A group of 8 of us decided to have a weekend away for rafting and fun! We chose the Harry Packer Mansion because it's super cool looking and had great reviews. We did not participate in the murder mystery but we're very pleased with our stay. We arrived on Friday night and were greeted in the parking lot. We were... More

You will meet the nicest people, enjoy superbly curated drinks and enjoy a stupendous view of this lovely Victorian gem of a town. I love to have a drink on the veranda but have stayed here as a guest and loved it all. Don't miss this beautifully restored mansion!

The hotel was immaculate and very comfortable. It is in walking distance to all the area shops and restaurants. We went for the murder mystery weekend, which could have been more exciting, but the hosts were very nice and welcoming, the dinner was well done, and we had a very nice weekend.
