We decided to get away for the day. We had reservations at area hotel. On our way to Jim Thorpe, called various inns for any last minute room availability. Two inns put us on a wait list. One suggested we try Whitehurst. They said they had one room available, took all our information, including complete credit card information. We then... More

Your Events page lists dates from 2011 please update - other than that web page is great. Pictures of the rooms would help. Where do your guests park? Your SpecialPackages page is empty - do you have agreements with any local companies for rafting, paintball, or biking?

We stayed in room 2F, which had a nice big King size bed, clean bathroom and Jacuzzi. Everything was clean and we really enjoyed happy hour on the back porch overlooking the town and the mountains. The walk to the downtown is about 20-25 minutes, which isn't bad on the way down but it was kind of long at 11:00... More

my wife and i booked the upstairs room facing the rear of the house. the view was great. i'm not sure what these other reviewers mean when they talk about a "rundown" neighborhood, because that isn't the case at all. it is east jim thorpe, it is an old town, but it is far from a "slum". anyway the room... My Husband and I just spent the Holiday weekend at this Inn. This was our very 1st time staying in Jim Thorpe. Chris & Bill were very accomodating and took care of all our needs. The Inn is located just outside of town (15 minute walk to the town).; Quiet location in a residential neighborhood. Very clean, comfortable and a... More

We had a beautiful 2 room suite with a balcony that overlooked the mountains. It was far enough from town that it was quiet and private, but close enough to all of the action. The room had a spa tub, sitting room, lots of closet space and windows and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast vouchers were available at a... More

I can find very little to recommend this property. It is not close to the city. It was not cheap. It was not particularly nice and there was no breakfast. The room was so musty we couldn’t stop sneezing – maybe something to do with the black mold on the window shades. The proprietor warned us about the neighbors so... More

Thanks for sharing your comments with us, we’re sorry you did not enjoy your time better. True, we are not located in the heart of the historic district. Whitehurst is located a short distance (less than a mile, and totally within walking distance for those who enjoy taking that approach through the quiet community area of Jim Thorpe) from the... Probably the worst B&B we have been to in years. The neighborhood is so-so and the host didn't make it any better. She said to not park in the front of the house because the neighbors were nasty (just what we wanted to here); then she gave us a $10 coupon to Bob's Diner for breakfast which was a dump... More

The row home known as Whitehurst Guest House did have very nice renovations on the interior. The room we rented on the second floor was tastefully done but VERY small. We could live with that; it was the neighborhood and views that were hard to take!! This is located in East Jim Thorpe in a very rundown neighborhood (almost one... More

I wanted to escape Philadelphia with my boyfriend and this was the perfect place to stay. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and a private deck with a view of the mountains. It was very relaxing and quiet, despite being at full capacity. The only downside is that it is not in the main "downtown" area of Jim Thorpe and... More
