Angela came to the rescue when our original accommodation was unavailable due to some flooding nearby - and how lucky we were as we had a fantastic couple of days with her and Bob at avoca house. The room and surrounds are beautiful and the whole family so welcoming (including Robo the gorgeous labrador!). The only sounds are those of... More

So lovely to meet you both too and I am so relieved to hear you received your wedding clothes in plenty of time before the wedding in Sydney. I do hope the weather was kind for the ceremony and all went well. Enjoy your time in Thailand. More

We stayed at Avoca House by default as we were not able to access our accommodation because of flood waters. Bob and Angela are the most hospitable, welcoming hosts. Our accommodation was wonderful and the breakfast in the courtyard just delicious. Very reluctantly we went back to our booked accommodation for the second night but would have much preferred to... I am so pleased to hear that you were still able to enjoy your little break away in Wollombi Valley, floods and all the excitement made for a memorable weekend I'm sure! More

Relaxed, clean, comfortable, amazing breakfasts all set in an idillic rural landscape. We would recommend this place to anyone and we would love to come back. Bob and Angela are very generous hosts. Also, The pub in Wollombi is an Australian classic. There was even a woman doing her knitting who brought in a lamb on a lead.

Fantastic Accommodation Bob and Angela took care of four weary riders and made us feel at home. Only draw back we were only there for one night next time will have to make the visit longer ... Dinner and Breakfast was much more than expected

We booked Avoca House last-minute and didn't know what to expect but were wonderfully impressed by the warmth and generosity that Bob & Angela show towards their guests. The accommodation is beautiful and impeccibly maintained. I am a real snob when it comes to cleanliness and general standards of fitouts, and I was really impressed. I normally avoid having showers/baths... More

Somewhat tentative at first about staying at B&B's as opposed to hotels, especially with children as we considered B&B's to be the realm of couples, however we pleasantly surprised when we stayed at Avoca house. the experience was enjoyable, our children had a great time with the farm animals and were able to be involved in many tasks associated with... We had a lovely short break at Angela and Bob's Avoca House B&B just out of Wollombi. They were attentive but not intrusive hosts. The beds and living areas were very comfy. The farm is gorgeous and the breakfasts were delicious. It was nice not staying in the touristy part of the Hunter, yet close enough for visits each day.... More

Myself, husband and 1.5 year old son stayed at Avoca House for two nights. In fact we intended to stay only 1-night, but we were so impressed, we extended our stay by an additional night. Avoca House is a small working farm with cows, hens (and yes, you get to eat the eggs for breakfast), horses etc and a dog... More

Everyone should experience Avoca House. The accommodation is excellent, in individual cottages. Clean, well presented with great facilities. The farm is beautiful, but it s the welcoming friendliness of Angela and Bob which is so wonderful. My son and I stayed in May, when Angela offers an evening meal.. And what a meal!! She is an amazing cook. We all ate... More

I was visiting my daughter and her family who have recently emigrated from the UK to Sydney. I wanted to visit the Hunter Valley and my daughter found Avoca House - what a find! Bob and Angela are the perfect hosts - warm, welcoming, nothing too much trouble but not in your face. We had two rooms in one wing... More
