Black Bear Inn is a very good and cozy hotel in the center of a small place – Thredbo Village. The location is very good – just 5 minutes from the lift station. The room is quite nice and clean. Personnel are really very friendly. We visited Thredbo in March 2014, so it was not for skiing, but to go... More

Stayed next door at the candle light lodge, they recommend this place for dinner came here the food was great felt like 5 star, after extensive internet research, I concluded that the second night we would come back, i even asked a few locals and it reconfirmed our second visit, nothing Like local knowledge!! Yet again as suspected we were... More

a short notice booking to spend New Year's eve in the mountains allowed us to enjoy the relaxed hospitality at the Black Bear Inn. Reception was closed on arrival, however, key and welcome letter was waiting for us on the desk- so all good! The restaurant was great-the chocolate fondant was sensational. We had a great view of the fireworks... More

I had the opportunity this year to find out what this Inn was like. Well sorry to say I was disappointed. When you walk into an establishment for the first time you should expect that there would be a warm welcome, don't expect this at this establishment. Rudeness & heavy atmosphere awaited us and we were very quick to depart... More

My dad and I stayed at the Black Bear Inn and we were wowed by the charm and style of this lovely classic euro style lodge. Extremely friendly staff, amazing restaurant with cosy dining and bar facilities. The food was spectacular - 5* quality, presenation and ingredients. A very impressive menu, I would go back and stay here for the... More

We just spent two nights here in room 6 on the top floor which had great views of the mountain from the little window. The room was very clean and tidy - appeared to have been recently repainted and carpeted. The bathroom had a skylight in it and was also clean and tidy. It is one of the older properties... More

Really friendly lodge in good position near the village. Great food at the restaurant. The room was ok. We were downstairs and didn't have much of a view, but a window, which was good. The bathroom was small and the vent fan was really loud! It came on automatically with the light. Although it was tiny the bathroom had a... More

Great atmosphere. Rooms small and older though the Restaurant, Bar and really friendly staff make it a really enjoyable stay. Our children were well looked after as they had lots of board games and DVD's to watch in the sitting area. Cooked Breakfast included in package awesome.

We spent four nights at the Black Bear Inn on a recent skiing holiday and were extremely happy with both the accommodation, facilities and hearty breakfast which was included in the rate. The room offered views to the mountains, was clean and well equipped including a small television which we were too busy to watch! The ensuite bathroom came with... More

I've stayed at the Black Bear Inn two years in a row now. The staff are friendly and the Inn (which is actually more like a B&B/Chalet fashioned in the Tyrolean style) is located very centrally - walk to everything in Thredbo! I don't give this an "excellent" rating for two reasons: the rooms/decor are starting to become a little... More
